“Forty Days in the Desert” – Day 33 – July 15 (Reflection by an immigrant husband)We pray for all families, U.S. and Immigrant, especially the Krentz family in southern Arizona, the Huereca family in Juarez, Mexico and the Varela family of south Phoenix, Arizona. FAMILIES MUST NEVER BE SEPARATED. Not by policy, politics or punishment!“Marriage”All this time we have been talking about the family. But what is family for us? Do we really know the meaning of this word? This is summarized in another word, "marriage". If we talk about the family, and we do not understand the word "marriage", we will only be like an annoying bell that gongs. Let us see what the Holy Bible tells us about the word "marriage", 2 Corinthians, 21-24. The Holy Bible tells us that we pass from a single flesh, that is to say a single being, not two. One time my wife came home from school and shared with me what happened in class. The teacher came into the room and said, "do you know why there is such a high rate of divorce at this time". They were all surprised, because he asked them this question; no one answered! Then he said, "because we know whom we are making the contract with"? Is it with our partner, or with God? He said it is with neither of the two, but with ourselves. This is the reason for the failures of marriage. In this journey of the 40 days in the desert, let us know the meaning of these two words. Family and marriage. God bless you. “Our Father, who are in heaven…”

“Forty Days in the Desert” – Day 32 – July 14We pray for all families, U.S. and Immigrant, especially the Krentz family in southern Arizona, the Huereca family in Juarez, Mexico and the Varela family of south Phoenix, Arizona. “Sons”I am a blessed man. During this prayer campaign, the people who have supported me the most have been my two sons. One is 17 years old and the other 15. Every day, at six-thirty they load the truck and the carts, and put the chairs and water out. Funny thing is, they never complain.During the rosary, they sit off to the side and read the rosary in Spanish. On occasion they go in front of the crowd and say a decade of the rosary on the loud speaker. After the rosary, they load everything up and put it away. On the weekends, they help me maintain the Mary's Ministries shrine; one is an altar boy and the other a lector.I can never put in words what my sons mean to me. I love them very much. Family is everything. I can't help but think of Joseph and Jesus being with each other, working, playing and loving each other. God has blessed me with great sons.FAMILIES MUST NEVER BE SEPARATED.
