𝖸𝖾𝗍 so much of today's suffering comes from reversing that truth.

We chase possessions and neglect relationships.
We collect more, but connect less.
We value status, wealth, and appearances while forgetting the hearts standing right in front of us.

The things you own will never remember your kindness.
But people will remember how you made them feel.

✨ At the end of life, it won't be the things you gathered that matter most.

It will be the love you gave, the lives you touched, and the kindness you left behind. 🤍🕊

🌸🙏 Buddha’s Birthday Celebration Invitation 🙏🌸

Chùa Thôn Yên (Calm Village Buddhist Association) warmly invites our community, friends, and families to join us in celebrating the Birth of Shakyamuni Buddha (Đức Phật Thích Ca Mâu Ni).

This special evening is an opportunity to come together in gratitude, reflection, and joy as we honor the Buddha’s compassion, wisdom, and teachings.

The celebration will include a traditional Buddha’s Birthday ceremony, chanting, prayers, and fellowship with our Buddhist community.

As our temple’s kitchen facilities are limited, we kindly invite attendees who wish to do so to bring a vegetarian dish or offering to share with everyone after the ceremony.

We sincerely hope you can join us and share in this meaningful occasion. May you and your family be blessed with peace, happiness, good health, and harmony.

Anger is a natural emotion, but mindfulness teaches us that we do not have to be controlled by it.

• Take a mindful breath
• Step away before reacting
• Speak gently instead of impulsively
• Return to the present moment

Like still water, our mind becomes clearer when we allow ourselves time to calm and reflect.

This week at Calm Village, we explored Right Diligence from The Heart of the Buddha’s Teaching by Thich Nhat Hanh.

✨ A simple reminder:
What we water grows.

Are we nourishing seeds of peace, compassion, and understanding…
or feeding anger, worry, and negativity?

Right Diligence invites us to gently care for our mind—
to cultivate what is wholesome and let go of what is not.
