has been at the center of tense conversation lately around the "Christian internet", and we felt like there hadn't been as many gracious conversations about what it is and how we should live amongst one another in light of the many experiences surrounding the issue.

So, we invited a dear brother and friend Brandon O'Brien to have that conversation along side Vermon Pierre, John H. Talley III and James Nwobu. Watch it now on Youtube , and give us a sense of your or a close one's experience with .

We hope this offers at least another way of approaching the conversation that honors God and His people. Enjoy!

Fruitful conversations about are almost impossible because few of us bother to define our terms. So here's an effort to block out some of the...

We haven’t posted much here but thought this episode of the Unsilent Church podcast could be of help to you or those you might know in the process or somewhere on the path of deconstruction—(re)evaluating the place of faith in life and relationships.

Hope this helps to equip us, not only to think more clearly, but listen more attentively, speak more carefully and love more graciously—even our enemies. Bless y’all! 🙏🏾

This event is tomorrow! You can register via the link below.

Carl is passionate about reaching and making disciples in America in urban poor neighborhoods, among black Muslims, Hebrew Israelites and immigrants. If 2020 revealed anything about the church in the United States, it is that there is a great need for justice oriented, racially reconciling, disciple making movements and Carl is prayerfully pioneering these kind of movements.

Join us to hear Carl discuss disciple making as a key component in reconciling others to God most especially in urban poor communities. http://bit.ly/DiscipleshipCJ

Pastors and Clergy-

Join African American Christian Clergy Coalition and Arizona Justice Project Live on Facebook on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 6pm MST

We are honored to welcome an illustrious panel of people who live, work and care deeply about this issue every day:

FEATURING:
Pastor Reginald Walton, Civic Engagement Chair, AACCC, who will frame the discussion from a biblical perspective
Cynthia Roseberry, Deputy Director for Policy, Justice Division, American Civil Liberties Union. During the Obama administration, she served as project manager of the historic Clemency Project 2014.
Lindsay Herf, Director at the Arizona Justice Project, whose organization has worked on some of the most challenging clemency cases in Arizona
Alice Marie Johnson, Keynote Speaker, criminal justice reform advocate, pardoned during the Trump Administration after serving years for drug crime
David Petersen, former Arizona State Senator who deeply cares about this issue.
Khalil Rushdan, Exoneree and Arizona Justice Project Board Member who will moderate this conversation
On this 2021 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. season of service, join us as we discuss how clemency is practiced in Arizona, and how advocates, family members and formerly incarcerated persons can help promote reform.

“Cowardice asks the question: is it safe? Expediency asks the question: is it politic? Vanity asks the question: is it popular? But conscience asks the question: is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular- but one must take it simply because it is right.”

-Martin Luther King Jr. 1929-1968

Wanted to let you know about a new podcast hosted by Roosevelt Community Church with the hope of creating space for meaningful conversations around race and other important conversations that the church has unfortunately garnered a reputation for being less vocal than we ought to have been. This is one effort to change that. If you prefer podcasts, this one could be a valuable addition to your library. Listen, share your thoughts and continue to practice meaningful dialogue in your places of worship, work and rest.

“BLACK LIVES MATTER”
What do you see when you read that? And how does that make you feel? This video is a conversation amongst pastors Vermon Pierre, John Talley and RCC church member Jennifer Spiegel about the challenge people have had with the concept and assertion that "Blacks lives matter," and the organization that has formed around it.

How should Christians understand the difference, and how should we speak with one another when it comes to the way we differ in our support for one and the other?

We hope this video provides insight to help you navigate that road. Enjoy.
