The Apostle's Fast, observed from May 31 to June 29, is a time of reflection and preparation leading to the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul (June 29). These great apostles spread the Gospel with unwavering faith—Peter, the "rock" of the Church, and Paul, a former persecutor turned devoted evangelist. Their legacy calls us to deeper prayer, fasting, and almsgiving, strengthening our faith as we embrace their teachings.

This month’s ByziKids insert features “A Prayerful Walk through the Apostles Fast 2026,” a beautifully illustrated guide that leads families through the fast. Each step along the path highlights a specific intention—inviting children to pray for bishops, priests, monastics, parents, missionaries, and all who serve the Church.

Traditionally, a strict fast is observed on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays of this fast. Confession is also customary, as all fasting periods serve to spiritually prepare us for the Feast. May this season inspire us to follow in the footsteps of these holy apostles! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CEOxA5ieLJtontKj98fwpUj__8tXQkKn/view

Bishop Artur will join other Catholic bishops in the United States in the act of consecration of the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Thursday, June 11 in Orlando, FL.

Bishop Artur recently reminded his clergy that, "As Byzantine Catholics, we approach this mystery through the rich liturgical and theological inheritance of the Christian East. The Sacred Heart of Jesus is not foreign to our tradition. In every Divine Liturgy, Vespers, Matins, and Moleben, we proclaim Christ as the 'Lover of Mankind' whose merciful and compassionate love pours forth for the salvation of the world."

Glory to Jesus Christ!

One of our parishioners has set up a Meal Train for Fr. Chris for the next two weeks. A message from the organizer is below:

"Fr. Chris is having surgery and will be out of commission for multiple weeks healing. I'm sure that he would be happy to answer any questions as he is in very good spirit going into this!

Any prepared food would be helpful, especially if made with love. There will be a rotating group of men assisting him daily, but help in this department would be much appreciated.

Most importantly, please pray for Fr. Chris as he goes into surgery, and in his recovery. Thank you!"
