Encourage the people God said. September 2019 when the paramedics came to pick me up from my home it could have been the last time I saw my family. I had been experiencing some back pain for awhile but thought it might be sciatic nerve damage. Little did I know I would be diagnosed with double pneumonia, failing kidneys, heart failure and Valley Fever. The levels of Valley fever that were in my blood was extremely high and I didn't remember anything once we made it to the hospitals front entrance.
I coded TWICE in the hospital, in a coma for a month and in the hospital for 4 months. The Valley fever had eaten my bone mass from my spine , vertebrae and lower neck (fractured c7).
I didn't feel sick or anything but was just in constant pain, the pain would be so extreme that I would be up 72 hours at a time no sleep. I couldn't lay in the bed, couldn't sleep in a chair or on the couch, I just sat on the floor on the side of the bed, praying constantly and praising God.
When I came out of the coma I could not speak, I had a feeding tube, they had given me a tracheotomy, was on dialysis and they took my gall bladder out. Prior to hospitalization I was not a fan of going to the Dr. I thank God for the hands he touched and used while I was in there and I thank God for my family and my Beyond the Veil Global Ministries family. I thank God for those of you that found out and prayed for me as well. The Doctors had told my family they've done all they could do but God hadn't done all that he can do. My son in law told me that they were visiting me one day and there was a doctor in my room who looked at them with tears in his eyes, pointing to the wall in my room that had prayers and scriptures posted all over the board and he said that is why your loved one is still alive. I had to learn to eat and walk again, I was about 205lbs during 2019 but one day the nurse came to weigh me in a wheelchair and I was 125lbs, tears just begin to flow down my face but I still praised God because I was alive. Should have been dead and gone for some of the things I've done in my life but the grace and mercy of God, his unconditional love is not like man's. I was released January 3rd 2020, I was in a wheelchair and also had a walker, I couldn't walk yet so my son and son in law would have to carry me up and down the stairs, help me go to the bathroom and my wife was there for all of this. I thank God for my wife, she could have said I didn't sign up for this and be out, see ya. This strong woman of God has endured this suffering with me and I'm so blessed that God gave her to me.
Late October 2021 I started loosing control and use of my hands and legs, this was from the fractured c7, it was pressing down on my nerves causing major problems. My family once again would have to help me get into bed, eat and go to the bathroom but I never stopped giving God praise because it's all his will and not mine. I had spinal fusion surgery on November 3rd and thank God I was able to walk and feed myself, go to the bathroom by myself, these small things we take for granted until we don't have them anymore.
I want to encourage each person that reads this and to let you know God is faithful, he is true to his word. It will not come back void. What God allowed me to go through only can be accomplished in Christ. God kept me alive to help Beyond the Veil Global Ministries fulfill his purpose. I see clearer now than I ever have what God is doing in my life and my family's lives. The word says if we stand he will save our household's. Whatever you going through today in life there is an answer for you and it's Jesus Christ. God will never leave you nor forsake you.
