Tonight at Feast Incarnate we had our dear friends front St Luke Devon with their signature fried chicken dinner, potato salad, tossed salad and red velvet cake with white chocolate chips.

As of last Tuesday we have served 4,809 meals for Philadelphia’s food insecure with the help of our donors and meal providers. In 2024 Feast needed to pay for meals on 15 Tuesdays, which can cost up to $450 due to the astronomical inflation of grocery prices. Every single dollar goes to purchase food, pay rent and insurance, paper goods and a hand full of administrative costs because we are a volunteer only organization, Thank you to our student volunteers from Drexel and Penn. Thank you to our friends at Whosoever Metropolitan Community Church for preparing and serving a delicious dinner of meatloaf, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, tossed salad with croutons, Oreos and iced tea. It’s always fun when David Pickett and his lively crew cook a meal for us.

Last Tuesday, Michael made a delicious Moroccan inspired sweet and spicy beef pasta dish with tossed green salad, cheese danishes and iced tea. It’s one of his best received recipes! When we don’t have a meal provider we cook ourselves and pay for the meals out of Feast Incarnates modest treasury. Thank you friends from St Luke for the very generous and delicious fried chicken dinner with potato salad, tossed green salad, roll with butter and home baked cakes, cookies and brownies. Our guests loved it! We always appreciate your participation in serving the meal.

A big thank you to Jodi Cunniffe for taking the reigns and preparing a delicious chili dinner for the food insecure at Feast Incarnate. Jodi came on board this summer to help us out during her precious time off from being a school psychologist. She is part of St. Luke in Devon, a church that has become one of our most frequent hosts and meal providers.

Super busy night at the Feast At incarnate meal this week. We served 114 meals, most likely a record. Thanks to Pastor Gwen King and the Stone Soup Committee at Trinity Lutheran in Havertown we were able to provide a tasty meal of Shepherd’s Pie, tossed green salad, fruit cup and cookies with iced tea. Thank you to the physician assistant students from Drexel and the SHOP students from Penn bringing a walk-in Penn Medicine clinic and a member from the health department.

We served 105 meals last night! Michael and Anita cooked up a fabulous meal of meatloaf, creamy masked potatoes, cucumber salad fresh cantaloupe, cornbread and cake with iced tea. Thank you to Jodi, Carter, and our Penn Shop students for your help.
