🎙️ I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free 🦅 St.Zenia really captured the Spirit of Nina Simone when she sang this beautiful spiritual —- the internal plea and cry for freedom.

As we usher in this Rosh Hashanah Season and explore the themes of pride, ego, repetence, forgiveness — chained that whether we realize it or not binds us. As we step into deeper humility, reverence for God, compassion, love, correction we will experience more freedom on this journey of faith.

God is moving in Zion — form our concert, to Sabbath worship experiences, to Bible study, to social media.

👣 Sometimes walking the path that God has designed for your life can feel lonely….

The path of integrity, honesty, purpose, obedience, of sacrifice.

It can feel like there’s a test that you have to overcome, barriers that you have to move through, lessons that you have to learn.

It might feel easier to just do the easy thing instead of go where God is leading you…

But the song reminds us to go all the way through because we’ve got heaven in our view.

We pray that this song be the encouragement that you need this week and in this season.

🔥 We wrapped up the show with SEMS T. Chantelle Volkens singing Stand by Me 🔥 which was a crowd favorite!

We loving call her SEMS as our Sister Elder, Mother Sarah, & Local Pastor’s wife. Beyond these things she is a blessing to our tabernacle.

Whether she is preaching, singing, cooking, cracking a joke, doing things behind the scenes for homegoing services, encouraging the saints, running a daughter’s meeting, facilitating Bible study, or the many other things that she does behind the scenes that we don’t evensee.

Thank you for ministering through song and your voice and reminding us to Stand by God!

Today is her birthday so drop some love for her in the comments ⬇️

And if you were moved by the concert, content, & want to support the work we are doing here in Zion.

You can donate here 👉🏽 https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/giving-from-the-heart-telethon

We will keep donations open until the 30th. We appreciate all of the support and donations we’ve received already.

🔥 ZION SINGS AS THE HEART GIVES WAS MORE THAN JUST A CONCERT IT IS A MOVEMENT🔥

We had people fly in from all of the U.S to be in the room in-person. We had people tuning in virtually from all over the U.S. People who wanted to experience the Sound of Zion and here is what people have been saying:

🙌🏾 “What an amazing concert! God Bless Zion” - St.April James

🙌🏾 “Outstanding Zion! SEMS was waiting for you to take a text! My God! I got chills Father Stand By Me.” - St. Karyn Hurt

🙌🏾 “Beautiful Concert Zion. Keep doing what you’re doing. Definitely on point! God bless all hands involved🙏🏼” - St. Sandra Carey

🙌🏾 “Zion’s concert was an extension of the spiritually powerful Friday Night and Sabbath Day services! O My Lord What A Time! One of the best concerts in Zion! No place like home.”- St. Valerie Dews-Farrar

🙌🏾 “The program was amazing! Enjoyed it from the virtual perspective.” -St.Toi Holley

🙌🏾 “Beautiful Concert” - St. Virginia Thomas-Volkens

There truly is no sound like Zion. We are carrying the sound, the spirit, & the legacy of the saints of old. Music changes and shifts but we are still carrying that old A’Capella sound.

No instruments, no instrumentals just one of the greatest instruments that God has given us —- the voice.

If you have a voice it’s a blessing to use it for HIS GLORY🎙️

We are excited to be ushering in Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Succoth 🙌🏾

We will be keeping the Zion Sings As The Heart Gives Campaign open until August 30th. You can contribute here 👉🏽 https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/giving-from-the-heart-telethon

🔥VICTORIOUS, DOWN IN THIS LAND!

If we had to choose one word to describe the Spirit of Zion Sings As The Heart Gives — the concert, the campaign, & our family and friends weekend it would be — VICTORIOUS DOWN IN THIS LAND!

I don’t know if you can feel it but there is a SHIFT among us!

🔥 An excitement to do God’s work.
🔥 A joy in singing God’s praises.
🔥 A willingness to do the work to be the best.
🔥 An openness to share and step into deeper visibility so that we may Go Rather To The Lost Sheep.
🔥A tenacity to roll up our sleeves, execute, & do whatever it takes to get the work done.
🔥 And God is doing the amplifying that only he can do!

🙌🏾 WE GIVE THANKS!

📣 Shoutout to St.Valerie Dews-Farrar (Directing in this video) for coming home to Zion to worship with us, support our concert, and all of the love you’ve shown on our social media content.

✡️ As we usher in the Sabbath let us remember to invite the Spirit of stillness, reflection, prayer, communion with God, praise, worship, & thanksgiving!

We wish you a happy beginning of the sabbath on this evening and sabbath day on tomorrow 🙌🏾

🔥 Shout out to GOOD NEWS for an amazing performance at our Zion Sings As The Heart Gives Concert 🙌🏾

A beautiful talented group of young singers under the direction of St.Eleazar Carey who guides these vocalists from across the U.S who have a love for music and a deep commitment to their faith.

Their intention is to uplift local tabernacles, serve as a positive example for the younger generation, and inspire seasoned members through their music and song.

They did an incredible job and we are so grateful & blessed to have had them be apart of this concert. We pray that God amplifies the amazing work that they are doing and continues to use them as instruments in his kingdom.

Our Zion Sings As The Heart Gives Campaign is still open for donations. You can donate to the campaign here 👉🏽 https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/giving-from-the-heart-telethon

Should we make this our signature concert & bring it back in 2027 👀

08/19/2026

🙌🏾 Elder Nathan Caldwell & St.Norma rocked the house with this rendition of Oh, What A Time!

There’s something powerful about holding the vision of joy and freedom as you walk through the storms of life. Of keeping the faith of the promise even though it has not yet been fulfilled.

They reminded us that God is our burden bearer, our help in trouble, our joy in sorrow, our light in darkness, our sword and shield!

If you were there live in-person or virtually we would love to hear about your experience at the show. Send us a DM with your testimonial or reflections.

And we are keeping the campaign open a little while longer. So if you have enjoyed the show, the content, the singers, the music, & the creative campaigns you can still contribute.
