☦️Today was Fth. Giorgi’s final liturgy at !
☦️He concluded the liturgy with two important messages:
1. As we’re entering Great Lent we’re reminded today during liturgy of the Final Judgment. Despite what we’re able to hide from each other (or ourselves) in this World! One day we will all meet the Lord and have our judgement day, for we can not hide our true selves from HIM!
2. Secondly, mentioned how today in the orthodox calendar we also celebrate the Venerable Titus the Presbyter of the Kiev Near Caves. Let him be a reminder of the unrest that is currently going on in the World. Let us, like the Ven. Titus forgive but also ask for forgiveness and pray daily for World Peace and the end of human suffering.
☦️Thoughtful & important messages all around! We will sure miss you ! Best of luck to you and your family! May God be with you 🙏🏻

Dear Parishioners,

It has been almost six months that I have been assigned to St. John's parish by the blessing of his Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon. During this period, I have met most of you. However, there are some of you whom I still don't know. I haven't met some of you yet and did not have a chance to get known close to you.

I find it crucial that I know all of you so that there is a bridge of communication between a parish priest and parishioners. A priest is the one who prays for you and, through these prayers, brings all of your needs to God. But it is impossible that priestly prayer can be productive if the priest doesn't know you and your spiritual needs for which he will be praying to God. Therefore, I am willing to meet you all, introduce myself, and listen to you as well.

Standing before the Holy Altar, I, as a priest, am responsible for offering prayers to God the Father through The Son for each of you and your families and all your spiritual needs. I am eager to meet you and hear your history and story as much as you are willing to share. I am willing to pray for you and your families on an everyday basis, which I find is a priest's responsibility towards the parish. Therefore, I ask for the chance to meet you.

We can arrange a meeting at any time of your convenience, whether in person at the Church or via zoom. Please reach out if you are willing to arrange a meeting at [email protected], or reach out directly at 914-888-4221.

I am looking forward to meeting you. I believe that there should be a tight connection between a parish priest and parishioners.

Yours in Christ,
Fr. Giorgi

Happy Theophany

Dear Parishioners and Friends of St. John
Chrysostom Parish Happy Feast of
Theophany to all of you.
Today the Orthodox Church Celebrates the
revelation of Christ as the Son of God. Today,
as the Gospels tell us, that "when He [Jesus]
had been baptized, Jesus came up
immediately from the water; and behold, the
heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the
Spirit of God descending like a dove and
alighting upon Him. And suddenly, a voice
came from heaven, saying, "This is My beloved
Son, in whom I am well pleased.' (Matthew
3:16-17). Today the voice of the Heavenly
Father witnesses the divinity on His Only-
begotten Son.
He who created the water has entered the
water to receive the baptism from John to
renew the essence of the water and grant it a
life-giving power through the Holy Spirit so
that we who follow Christ and receive the
baptism could enter the newness of life. The
life which belongs to Christ.
On the other hand, the revelation of Christ's
divinity upon his baptism is his entry to the
way of the calvary. He is revealed to be God,
but it is shown only on the Cross what it
means to be God. As soon as He has been
identified as the Divine Son of the Divine
Father, the gospels turn to the narration that
prepares readers for the culmination of
Christ's self-sacrificial testimony on the Cross.
May then we as well follow the example of our
Lord and not leave our baptisms as the mere
happy event of our lives but rather make it as
the turnover to a life full of love and godly
deeds.
May God bless you all!
Happy Feast of Theophany!
In Christ,
Fr. Giorgi

☦️Happy Feast of the Theophany of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
☦️ Theophany is the Feast which reveals the Most Holy Trinity to the world through the Baptism of the Lord (Mt.3:13-17; Mark 1:9-11; Luke 3:21-22). God the Father spoke from Heaven about the Son, the Son was baptized by Saint John the Forerunner, and the Holy Spirit descended upon the Son in the form of a dove. From ancient times this Feast was called the Day of Illumination and the Feast of Lights, since God is Light and has appeared to illumine “those who sat in darkness,” and “in the region of the shadow of death” (Mt.4:16), and to save the fallen race of mankind by grace.
