The Byzantine Church has a service – called “Typika” or “Obidnitsa” – that is part of the Divine Praises. (If you Google the word “Typika,” you’ll find many articles that give terrific background on this short prayer service.)

Consulting with Very Reverend Father Ed Higgins and Father David Petras, I created an adapted form of Typika to be used in the home. The thought is that this could provide an option for prayer when someone is unable to attend the Divine Liturgy.

Given the pandemic, it has been circulating around to different interested people over the past few days – so I thought I would share it with you.
