Still meditating on Prayer, prayer system and faith....
Sometimes we unintentionally think faith means becoming convinced that God must resolve
something in the exact manner we want or need.
And that's where I started thinking about trees.
When we look at a healthy tree, the first thing we notice is everything above ground. We see the leaves. We see the fruit. We see the flowers. We see the branches spreading out.
That's what gets our attention.
But the most important part of that tree may be the part nobody can see.
The roots....
Nobody ever walks past a tree and says, Look at those beautiful roots lol....
Because the roots are hidden.
They're underground.
You don't see what they're doing.
You don't see where they're stretching.
You don't see how deeply they're reaching.
You don't know which direction they're growing.
But while you're admiring everything above the surface, something underneath the surface is holding the whole thing together.
And when the storm comes, the flower can't save the tree.
The leaves can't save the tree.
The fruit can't save the tree.
The roots determine whether that tree can stand.
That's what God is teaching me about faith.
There are seasons when I wana see flowers.
I wana see evidence.
I wana see the prayer answered.
I wana see the people changed.
I wana see the situation turn around.
I want to be able to point to something and say, THERE IT IS.... God is doing it.
But sometimes God says
!!!! Stop looking only above ground !!!!!
Because there may be something happening beneath the surface that I cant clock.
You can't clock roots.
You cannot stand over a tree and watch the roots growing lol
You cannot measure every moment of development with your eyes.
But just because you cannot see movement does not mean there is no movement.
Hidden does not mean inactive.
