We exist to CELEBRATE God as we bring souls to Christ, building a COMMUNITY of believers who are CARING for one another, striving towards COMPLETION and fulfilling our COMMISSION in this world, as we bring our CONTRIBUTIONS to advance the Kingdom of God. James L. Ballard, Sr. Ballard was a man on a mission. It is for this reason that the name of the church, The Open Door Mission True Light Church,
became prophetic as well as explanatory of what God was doing and would do. The word that is the key to the history, present and future, embodied in the name of the church is “Mission.” Open Door now operates in the West Philadelphia area of the city as a true Open Door to “evangelical and philanthropic work in the urban area.”
In 1990, Rev. Dr. Maureen L. Davis became the presiding pastor. Open Door is a Pentecostal church that worships God and serves his people in excellence. We are about the business of establishing territory for God on which the Gospel message can be known, loved and lived. We continue to be a church with a mission that is on a mission to win the lost for Christ. Open Door is blessed with gifts of anointed worship, preaching and teaching from the Word of God that will lead you into new levels of revelation and understanding. Our services are directed towards ushering you into the presence of God and presenting you the uncompromised Word of God. We anticipate the power of God to be present in all of our services and strive to show the love of God to all who come.
