Purpose in Paradox
The purposes of God are a paradox to the earthly mind. He teaches patience in waiting, singing in sorrow and contentment when faced with unmet desires. The weight of our circumstances reminds us that we cannot carry them alone and that we must cry out to God who is our only hope. He is faithful. He will not abandon us. Even when we feel we cannot take another step, He urges us on. At times when we feel our hearts will break if we hear one more word of discouragement, He lets us know that He will keep us. He knows that if we would stretch to do what we think is impossible, we will come that much closer to His goal of our understanding that when it is darkest, He is our light when we are weakest, He is our strength, and that we don't have to see before we believe.

I experienced all kinds of emotions regarding the outcome of this election. Then three words came to me, AND WE KNOW. The first words in Romans 8:28 we usually gloss over. God has made Himself know to us. That is why we must know the biblical God, not the"what can you do for me god," who is preached in so many churches today. We can apply what Bible says about God even to this election. The All-Seeing, All-Knowing, and All-Powerful God we can know has not lost control. He still holds the reins.Open your Bibles. Find out who He is. We do not have to lose heart if we know our God.

Risen
Quickly, they placed Him in a tomb.
The Sabbath was approaching; being good Jews, they would not disrespect the law.
Tenderly they buried the One who had fulfilled this same law in His life and in His death.
Sorrowfully, men cried without shame, unaware
That this man was and is the ultimate sacrificial Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

A man like this they had never known,
Kind enough to heal
Powerful enough to forgive
Chosen to speak the truth
A truth that in their eyes had caused His death.
Didn’t they understand that He must speak with the veracity of heaven?

A Truth that would dissolve the chains from men’s hearts,
peel layers of darkness from men’s eyes, and bring salvation to a believing soul.
Truth that would have them understand that He told the truth, when He said He would live again.

So when they did not believe Mary had seen Him on the outside of the tomb,
This Lord of truth appeared to those whom He loved.
He walked through a wall.
He watched as they watched Him in disbelief.
He filled the room with peace for their sakes.

Then He showed them the marks of His death, for this reason,
Jesus knew that believing is seeing, but these men had to see before they believed
and dedicate their lives to telling the world the truth. He is risen.

The Lord has the power to stop us from making unwise decisions or doing things that make our lives difficult down the road. Sometimes He does. But if He does not, it is because most of us learn the best lessons by going through the storm instead of around it. Pastor Ephraim
