On this blessed Day of ‘Arafah, we’re honored to share one of this year’s BAMBAR Hajj Reflections from Sr. Khadira Abdul-Aziz. 🤍

After being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and struggling to walk independently, Sr. Khadira answered the call to Hajj in 2007 unsure of what to expect… but Allah had other plans.

Today, she walks without assistance and even became a Zumba instructor despite living with MS.

Her story is a powerful reminder of Allah’s mercy, strength, and the power of answering His call.

🌸 Happy Mothers/ Ummi’s Day! 🌸

To all of the amazing mothers, grandmothers, aunties, bonus moms, and women who nurture with love and sincerity — today we honor you. 🤍

Your duas cover generations. Your sacrifices often go unseen. Your love, strength, and wisdom continue to shape our families and communities every single day.

“And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing] her in weakness upon weakness…” — Quran 31:14

May Allah reward every mother abundantly, grant ease to those who are struggling, mercy to those who have returned to Him, and love and appreciation to those still with us. Ameen 🌷

With love,

Alhamdulillah, thank you to everyone who attended our 4th Annual BAMBAR Iftar in Brooklyn, NY. With over 200 people in attendance, it was beautiful to see families and believers from across NYC—Harlem, Staten Island, Queens, the Bronx—and even those who traveled from Maryland, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Philadelphia. Seeing families at the tables, youth playing, and Muslims from various masajid breaking bread together truly embodied the spirit of our community! It was beautiful ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to our host the amazing Aisha Toure, Hakim Jenkins for opening the program, and our keynote speaker Dr. Su’ad Abdul Khabeer for such a powerful message.

Special appreciation to and Aneesah Abdur-Rahman for their meaningful performance written and directed by Nadira Abdul-Karim, and thank you to Councilman .yusefsalaam for his surprise appearance and continued support.

We were honored to feature our elders in the Pioneers Presentation, highlighting the legacy of those who paved the way for our community.

A huge thank you to our planning committee, volunteers, youth, and girls who helped make this event possible. Your dedication year after year means so much us. Alhamdulillah

Thank you to our sponsors and secret donors! Gratitude as well to those who supported the meal and refreshments, including , , and all who others contributed dishes and refreshments.

Special thanks to the brothers from Masjid Alhamdulillah for security and to everyone who stepped in wherever needed.
Thank you to all the vendors who came out!We pray Allah accepts it from all of us and allows us to gather again next February 2027, insha’Allah.

As Salaamu Alaikum!
Ramadhan Mubarak

Thank you to everyone who attended BAMBAR’s 4th annual iftar in Philadelphia this past Saturday. As with all BAMBAR initiatives, this iftar required a lot of effort, financial support, and prayer, and we am grateful for each guest who attended, those who donated, and everyone who made sincere du’a for the success of this event.
Naeemah’s goal for this year’s iftar was to create a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere for fellowship during this blessed month while educating guests on the leading cause of death among women across all racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds – heart disease. As a result, the menu options and presentation were carefully crafted to encourage us and the women in our families to adopt healthier eating and lifestyle habits. Alhamdulillah, 93% of all guests attended with a family member (i.e. mothers, daughters, sisters, cousins, in-laws, etc.).

It’s her personal belief that iftars should also become more educational, and she could not let the evening pass without tackling the spiritual diseases of the heart. We hope everyone enjoyed “Clinical Rotations,” “Prescription Pick-up”, and “Match Day” and that we work on curing ourselves of spiritual diseases so that we can return to Allah with sound hearts. Ameen❤️

Thank you to AtiyahAmatullah's Treasuresatullahstreasures for reaching out to contribute to the gift bags for each guest. The journals are beautifu💦Mukifina 💦ah. , for ALL that you do while juggThe BAM 411 iftar, , and yoHabeebah Salaame. .bee.bah1412 , who stepped in on the day of the event and assisted with setup & cleanup, tech support and anything eJamilah F. Bashir , who sent those delicious bean pies! Dr. Sabrina Islam, for her informative presentation and giving her time to speak with us. May Allah reward you immensely.
