Mishkan Shalom’s Rosh Hodesh celebrations on Zoom are open to all who are drawn to earth-based spiritual practices and to the tradition of honoring each new moon of the Hebrew calendar. Led by Poet Susan Windle, Chant Leader Wendy Galson and Kohenet Shoshana Bricklin, we use chant, the rhythmic and musical repetition of a sacred phrase as taught by Rabbi Shefa Gold , to support deeper exploration of our lives in relation to the cycle of the year. We also draw from the teachings of Rabbi Jill Hammer and the Hebrew Priestess (Kohenet) tradition. We explore the Netivot, the priestess pathways, ways of being and acting in the world that embody a particular form of the sacred feminine. We honor one netivah every month, and we bless and eat chocolate (and fruit) with the blessing for chocolate created within the Mishkan Rosh Hodesh Community.
