Metro Church

Metro Church We are a Gospel-centered church that seeks to bring glory to God through worship, genuine community, and serving our city.

We invite you to worship with us, and begin to see what our community is passionate about. Conceived in September 2008, and born out of a series of prayer meetings between 2009-2010, Metro Church was founded with the vision to transform the City by equipping its leaders and renewing its communities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Creativity: The Architect, “Our Core Values” sermon series by Pastor Joshua Kim.

The gospel tells an astonishing story: the Architect of all things entered His own creation to restore what had been broken. The One who formed humanity with His hands would later stretch those hands out on a cross so that people estranged from God could become a new creation. If your striving has left you weary, there is an invitation here, not to accomplish more, but to return home.

Aired: Sunday, May 24, 2026 at 11:30AM.

Pastoral Articles: A Theology of Rest

Ever wonder what’s on our pastor’s hearts? We are thrilled to introduce a new series of Pastoral Articles on the Metro blog, written by our shepherds with discipleship in mind: our lives, faith, and collective journey as a church family. In this article, Pastor Joshua Kim dives deeper into what true biblical rest is and looks like. So bring an open heart, pull up a seat, and come engage with us each month!

At Metro, one of our core values is being 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺-𝘌𝘮𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨 🌆

While many people avoid the brokenness and need within cities, the Gospel draws us closer. Jesus continually moved toward people with compassion, mercy, and sacrificial love — and we desire to do the same in Philadelphia

Join us 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 at 10:00AM for an opportunity to serve our community together! We will meet at Falls Ridge in East Falls (4349 Ridge Ave, 19129). See you there! 👋

City: The Planter, “Our Core Values” sermon series by Pastor Andrew Pae.

In Jeremiah 29:1–14, Jeremiah brings a message to God’s people, saying they will be exiled for 70 years, yet He promises to prosper them. Though they were far from home and living in uncertainty, God called them to live faithfully, build, pray, and seek the good of the city to which they had been sent, trusting that His plans for them were filled with hope and a future.

Whether you’re in the city or out of the city, listen to what God desires of you for your love for the city.

Community: The Church, “Our Core Values” sermon series by Pastor Andrew Pae.

In Matthew 16:13–21, Jesus asks his disciples the most important question any person can answer: “Who do you say I am?” Peter confesses that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. From that confession, Jesus gives one of the greatest promises in Scripture: “I will build my church.”

In this sermon, we consider each word in that sentence, and what it means that Jesus is the Lord, the builder, the cornerstone, and the blessing himself. He builds leaders for the church, forms a people on mission, and promises that even death itself will not overcome what he is building.

Metro Stories: Sharon’s Story of Surrender in Marriage and Motherhood

In this Metro Story, watch how God dismantled Sharon’s need for perfect control, loneliness, and the pressures of marriage and motherhood, replacing it with something far better: the freedom of trusting a Father whose love is perfect, whose plan is greater, and whose hands hold what hers never could. Through Psalm 139 and the finished work of Christ, He reminded her that she is fully known and loved, and that she was never meant to carry it alone.
