WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE MOST IMPORTANT EVENT IN HUMAN HISTORY?
"Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:"
(Ephesians 1:21).
There is one event in history that is unparalleled in its effect upon the world. Nothing like this had happened before nor has anything equaled it since. The most important event in human history is the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Jesus' resurrection from the grave had a direct impact immediately around the world. He rose immortal, people had previously been raised from the dead by the power of GOD, they all eventually died once more, but Jesus, never to die again because he was GOD in human flesh.
Jesus' resurrection affected the world in different ways:
First, an earthquake occurred at Jesus' death and again at His resurrection as an angel descended from heaven to roll away the stone and reveal an empty tomb (Matthew 27:50-51).
Second, Jesus Christ's resurrection shook the religious sector of the world. The shaking at His death started after Jesus yielded up His spirit. At that moment the veil of the temple that separated GOD from people was torn in two from top to bottom (Matthew 27:51). The way was opened now for all mankind to draw near to GOD through His Son. Jesus' death made forgiveness of sins and reconciliation with GOD possible for all who believe in Jesus. In addition, animal sacrifices were no longer required for forgiveness of sins because Jesus was the perfect Lamb of GOD who died once for the sins of the world (John 1:29).
Jesus' resurrection proved that His sacrifice has been accepted by the Father as full payment for the sins of those who would believe in Him.
Third, Jesus Christ's Resurrection had a great impact on the political sector of the world.
The Roman Empire had conquered nations and ruled the world, but in the case of Jesus Christ, they discovered a power like no other. They couldn't explain the Jesus they had killed by crucifixion was no longer in the grave. In addition, they had no power to stop the spread of Christianity. which continues to spread and preach throughout the world.
Fourth, Christ's resurrection changes the lives of individuals.
It impacts more than just nations and worldly institutions.
This deeply personal event is able to reach directly into the hearts of all who believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord, Savior, and reposition them for supernatural dominion over all opposition. "Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:"
(Ephesians 1:21).
Because Jesus, the Resurrecting King was raised from the dead, we too have been raised to walk in the newness of life.
He is resurrecting everything dead in our lives bringing them back to life (John 11:25).
Easter is the celebration of the Power of Resurrection's reality to change the life and story of the believers by the understanding of the finished work of Jesus Christ, engaging and appropriating positional advantages and oneness in Christ.
