'TRY, TRY AGAIN"
In 1840, Thomas H. Palmer wrote in his Teacher's Manual a famous passage that's been quoted for generations: "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again." And this quote gained even more popularity in the publishing of Edward Hickson's book The Singing Master.
Often times, we 'try, try again' and the problem still remains. The sorrow still lingers. The regret still haunts us. And the feeling of defeat and failure smothers and overwhelms us like a violent avalanche of hopelessness. But we must not give up!
Babe Ruth -The Sultan of Swat, The Big Bambino- hit an astounding 714 career home runs during his 22-years playing Major League Baseball (MLB), a record he held for 53 years! But what most people don't know, is that Babe Ruth held the all-time MLB strikeout record for nearly 30 years after his career ended. He struck out 1,330 times! He failed more times at bat, but he didn't let his failure at bat stop him from persevering.
Despite the adversities that confront us, Pray, and Pray again. Persevere, and Persevere again. Serve, and Serve again. You will strike out in life, but keep your focus on your mission. Step up to the plate and keep swinging with intention and unwavering faith in the LORD Jesus, and the homeruns will come! Try, try again.
