Today in preparation for Holy Week, we spent the morning cleaning our sanctuary. We lowered the chandelier to the floor and cleaned it until it sparkled. We vacuumed our chairs and wiped down all surfaces. From the oldest members of our parish to the youngest, it takes all of us to make sure our cathedral looks beautiful.

Today, on the Third Sunday of Great Lent, is VENERATION OF THE HOLY CROSS.

A decorated cross is brought to the center of the church for veneration to strengthen the faithful at the midpoint of their Lenten journey. It commemorates Christ's victory over death and serves as a reminder of His
imminent Passion.
