Happy Trans Day of Visibility!

Trans Day of Visibility, celebrated annually on March 31st, celebrates trans life: the joy, stories, agency, and resilience of trans people in a society that often seeks to invalidate and demonize those of us who exist outside the gender binary. As anti-trans sentiment and legislation become more prevalent under the supposed banner of Christianity, it is more important now than ever for Christians to affirm, embrace, and uplift trans, nonbinary and two-spirit people.

For the last fifteen years, The Episcopal Church has taken a strong position of support, affirming the presence and leadership of trans individuals at all levels. As a Church, we celebrate the complexity of humans as it reflects the mystery of God’s own image in which we are made, and we honor the beauty of creation replete with ambiguity and transformation. On this Trans Day of Visibility, know that trans, nonbinary, and two-spirit people are present and welcome all across our Church.
