Dear Friends / Colleagues:

Temple University is offering a Community Health Workers Training experience, tentatively scheduled for August 6-31, 2012. This training opportunity would require participants to commit to four weeks of training, at 30 hours a week, from Monday to Friday, 9am-3pm.

Employment Prospects

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to apply for employment with Temple University Health System and other health care providers! Success is defined as having perfect attendance, being punctual, having good interpersonal skills and a positive attitude, demonstrating professionalism, being able to receive training information and demonstrate acquired skills in a variety of settings, e.g. through case studies, quizzes and practicum experiences.

Community Impact

For your information, community health workers serve diverse communities who are most at risk of illness, and provide a wide range of services, including outreach, home visits, health education and client-center counseling and case management. As an advocate, they support clients in accessing high quality health and social services.

Requirements

To be considered for training, below are some of the requirements:

Age: At least 18 years or older with demonstrated emotional maturity At least High School Graduate or GED certificate, and 9th Grade equivalent literacy and numeracy skills Must have a clear criminal record check Must be able to pass a drug test and health screening, and have up-to-date immunizations Must have related work experience or a desire to enter the health and human services field of work Scheduled Information Sessions

Option #2: Wednesday, July 12, 2012 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM

Option #3: Thursday, July 13th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
