The Ladies of St. John Memorial Baptist Church held their 4th annual “Empowerment Tea Party“ the weather outside was cool, cloudy & rainy, but inside the church walls was sunshine, warmth and joy. Tables were personally & colorfully decorated, ages 2 to 92 were represented dressed in their finest tea party attire, buffet table menu was a welcomed delight to satisfy one’s craving appetite,and the Word of God presented by Pastor Trenis of “Jones Family Affair Ministries “ refueled our spiritual soul. If you missed us this year, Lord willing we will see you next year at our 5th Empowerment Tea party.

Good Friday preaching the good news of Christ along Broad Street in Philly, gave us the opportunity to meet, share, talk with a lot of wonderful Philly folks, we invited them to meet us at 3pm @ St. John Memorial Baptist Church for a more intimate fellowship- and many did. We shared testimonies, prayer, a delicious hot meal, we had food giveaway, gift cards, fresh produce, love and the greatest conclusion of the matter was more of the word of Christ…you can never get enough of our Jesus.

Year 4 of sharing the good news of Christ, on Good Friday in the streets of Philadelphia…praying with our communities-for healing of our troubled homes, songs of praise to lift a weary soul, preaching the hope in the word of God to transform hearts: all because a few thousand years ago, on an old rugged cross, Christ did for us, what we could never do for ourselves, left our sins at the cross, hallelujah, thank you, Jesus!!!🕊️🙏🏿

Conclusion of the whole matter is thankfulness, volunteers from “Youth With A Mission” all the way from NY, were on site at St. John to pray with, and for our community, meet n greet neighbors, share a hug, and lend a helping hand because ”The whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Gal 5:14
