Today on National Gun Violence Awareness Day, we with more than 50 locations around Philadelphia to bring greater awareness to the gun violence epidemic affecting our city and the nation.

In the wake of historic surges in gun-related crime, community-based violence prevention initiatives are making a notable impact. Since 2021, Philadelphia has seen a 45% reduction in gun violence victims, yet the crisis persists, and further action is needed. Toll the Bell aims to amplify this critical balance, highlighting the vital progress made and creating space for the hope that fuels continued change.

Over the course of Lent we’ve had a number of exciting programs!

“Know by Conversation,” a part of a wider Parish Lenten Discipline, invited parishioners old and new to the rectory parlor to meet the new rector and make a new friend in the parish.

The 20s/30s hosted a half day retreat for the whole parish, exploring how we live as Christians in uncertain times. It also included an introduction to praying the rosary!

Mother Dure hosted a lively dinner and conversation around Richard Rohr’s “The Tears of Things,” offering a hope-filled model for living today, grounded in the words of the Hebrew Prophets.

Mother Dure and Mother Johnson also led a weekly centering prayer group. They’ve met Wednesdays in the church following Evening Prayer, praying silently with God.
