Please join us this Sunday for our annual Blessing of the Animals. This year is particuarly significant, as it is the 800 year anniversary of the death of Saint Francis. Following, we hope you will stay for Choral Evensong, featuring the canticles 'Collegium Regale" by Herbert Howells, and music from Felice Anerio, Craig Phillips, and Jonathan Dove. The Parish Choir will be joined by the Boys & Girls Choir to sing this liturgy.

Join fellow Saint Mark's parishioners and friends for a special tour of Workshop of the World: Arts & Crafts in Philadelphia at the Philadelphia Museum of Art before the exhibition closes on October 11. Celebrating Philadelphia’s distinctive role in the Arts and Crafts movement, the exhibition explores how artists, architects, and craftspeople sought to bring beauty and artistry into everyday life, from the city itself to creative communities in Bryn Athyn, New Hope, Rose Valley, and Arden.

We’re especially delighted that several treasured objects from Saint Mark’s are on display in the exhibition, offering a wonderful opportunity to see them within the broader story of Philadelphia’s rich Arts and Crafts tradition. We are honored that exhibition co-curator David Barquist, H. Richard Dietrich, Jr., Curator of American Decorative Arts at the PMA, will host us for this tour.

Today on National Gun Violence Awareness Day, we with more than 50 locations around Philadelphia to bring greater awareness to the gun violence epidemic affecting our city and the nation.

In the wake of historic surges in gun-related crime, community-based violence prevention initiatives are making a notable impact. Since 2021, Philadelphia has seen a 45% reduction in gun violence victims, yet the crisis persists, and further action is needed. Toll the Bell aims to amplify this critical balance, highlighting the vital progress made and creating space for the hope that fuels continued change.
