Andrew was the first disciple Jesus ever called.
He was Simon Peter's brother — a fisherman working on the Sea of Galilee when John the Baptist pointed at Jesus and said — behold the Lamb of God. Andrew followed Jesus that day, went back to find his brother Peter and brought him too. Every great thing Peter ever did began with Andrew going to get him.
Andrew spent his ministry traveling far beyond the bounds of the other disciples — through Asia Minor, along the Black Sea, into what is now Russia and Ukraine and Greece. The Orthodox churches of Russia and Ukraine trace their apostolic origin back to Andrew.
He ended up in a city called Patras in Greece.
The Roman governor Aegeas had him arrested — furious that Andrew's preaching was converting Romans including members of his own household. He sentenced Andrew to death by crucifixion.
But Andrew asked not to be crucified on a standard cross. He considered himself unworthy to die on the same shaped cross as his Lord.
So they tied him — not nailed, tied with ropes to prolong the suffering — to an X-shaped cross.
And Andrew preached from it for two days.
Crowds gathered beneath him. He spoke to them about Jesus. About the resurrection. About what was waiting on the other side of death. For two days — in agony, bound to a cross — he preached.
He died on that cross still talking.
The X-shaped cross that bore him — the Saltire — became his symbol forever. It appears today on the national flag of Scotland, which adopted Andrew as its patron saint.
A fisherman from Galilee died preaching on a cross in Greece.
And his cross flies over Scotland to this day.
Share this so Andrew gets the recognition he deserves.
"Come follow me and I will send you out to fish for people." — Matthew 4:19

AN UNLIKELY DUO

Back in 2012, scientists used a specialized tool to peer inside a fossil burrow and were shocked and surprised to find a mammal and a reptile huddled together! This "Triassic" fossil was dated far back before any mammals would or should have evolved according to evolutionary theory! But here you have one found right next to a "prehistoric" reptile.

Evolutionists are always finding that their theories just don't stand up to scrutiny.

We would expect to find mammals and reptiles living together, considering that God created them all at the same time during creation week, a mere 6,000 years ago.

It also provides evidence of a catastrophic flood. How bad things must have been for these two very different creatures to hide together? What were they escaping from? In any other circumstances, these two wouldn't be found together, or one of them would have been eaten!

ARCHEOLOGICAL EVIDENCE FOR THE BIBLICAL PROPHET ISAIAH

Recently, Israeli archaeologist Eilat Mazar and his team made a stunning discovery during excavations in Jerusalem. It provides strong support for the reality of Isaiah and his Old Testament world.

Digging at the base of the southern wall of the Temple Mount, the team found a clay seal bearing Isaiah’s name. Mazar provided a transliteration of this Isaiah bulla in Biblical Archaeology Review as “Yesha‘yah[u] Nvy[?],” where brackets indicate unknown letters from damage to the clay. “Yesha‛yahu” is “Isaiah.” If the Hebrew letter aleph stood in place of the missing letter ,” then the word after “Isaiah” would spell “prophet.” Possibly the hand of Isaiah himself formed this seal.

In 2015, only ten feet away, the team had found a clay impression called a bulla bearing King Hezekiah’s seal. According to the Bible, the prophet Isaiah served during Hezekiah’s reign and interacted directly with the king.

The archaeological layer containing both the Hezekiah bulla and now the Isaiah clay seal occurs below Byzantine and early Roman debris. This matches the biblical time of Hezekiah’s reign, which lasted from 729 to 687 BC. Thus, these two artifacts found together confirm the fact that those Old Testament figures really lived at the time the Bible says they did.

Church, we must do better…when Becca approached me at the Lake County Pride Fest, she shared that something was impressing on her to go back to church. However, when Becca finally gained the courage to walk through the church doors, the greeters asked her to leave because she wasn’t dressed appropriately. As Becca shared this, tears began falling from her face. The church must get ready to welcome more LGBT-identified people who are being radically encountered by the Holy Spirit. Remember, Jesus died for them too. If you would like to discuss, please reach out to us at Exchange Ministries.
