After a period of mourning in honor of the faithful life and ministry of our beloved Superintendent Charles E. Pratt, Jr., we gathered to celebrate his legacy and look toward the future.

As Jurisdictional Prelate, it is my privilege to appoint Elder Maurice C. Powe, Sr., Esq as Pastor of Victory Temple Church Of God In Christ in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and Elder Aaron Roberson as Superintendent of the Springfield District of the Greater Massachusetts Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. We look forward to the observance of their official installation.

These appointments represent both continuity and new beginnings as we build upon the strong foundation left by Superintendent Pratt. Please join me in praying for these men of God, their wives, their families, and the congregations they are called to serve. May God grant them wisdom, strength, humility, and an unwavering commitment to advancing His Kingdom.

Today at 1:00 PM EST 10:00 AM PST, Bishop Swan will join Bishop J. Louis Felton and Attorney Carlos Moore for an important discussion entitled “Jim Crow 2.0” during the Holy Convocation Empowerment Day Sessions of the First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Southern California.

They will examine the continuing erosion of voting rights, the weakening of the Voting Rights Act, recent Supreme Court decisions, voter suppression, and why the Black vote remains critical in this political climate.

The struggle for voting rights did not end with Selma. The tactics have evolved, but the effort to dilute Black political power continues. Now more than ever, faith leaders and engaged citizens must understand what is at stake and be prepared to organize, educate, and advocate.
