Our back to school event is coming up and we hope to see you there! On August 16th, 2026 we will be hosting the community for an afternoon of fun, food, and school supplies!

We are also looking for donations for this event in the form of school supplies, donations for school supplies or gift cards for school supplies that we will be giving out the day of. Donations can be sent to the church from Monday - Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM!

Your generosity is a meaningful expression of care for our community. Financial gifts and school supply donations help First United Methodist Church of Germantown support local students, serve our neighbors, and continue ministries rooted in compassion, justice, and hope. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us make a lasting impact together.”

Sometimes the most important question we can ask is the simplest one:

“How can we pray for you?”

During Women’s Group last week, Pastor Wailoo paused to ask if anyone was carrying something that needed prayer. We wanted to share that moment because we know not everyone is able to be in the room, and because everyone deserves to know they don’t have to carry life’s burdens alone.

If there’s something on your heart today, we’d be honored to pray with you. Leave a prayer request in the comments or send us a private message if you’d rather share it confidentially. 🙏🏽

For generations, the sound of our carillon bells has echoed through Germantown, inviting neighbors to pause, listen, and gather.

In this video, Jenn, who has been part of First United Methodist Church of Germantown since 1979, shares a little history behind the carillon bells and why the ones we have here at FUMCOG are so special.

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday. If you missed it, don’t worrry we will have more performances every Monday in July!

Join us for future Germantown Gems & Carillon Recitals as we celebrate talented musicians, beautiful performances, and the joy of gathering together. We can’t wait to welcome you.

Thank you to for hosting us 🔔✨❤️

Happy Fourth of July!
As we celebrate our nation’s independence, we also reflect on the work that still lies before us. Freedom is more than a moment in history, it is a calling to build a community where every person is treated with dignity, justice, and love.

At First United Methodist Church of Germantown, we give thanks for the opportunity to worship freely, serve our neighbors, and continue working toward a world where liberty truly belongs to all.

May this Independence Day inspire us to recommit ourselves to compassion, peace, and the ongoing pursuit of justice for every member of our community.

Happy Fourth of July from all of us at First United Methodist Church of Germantown!

As temperatures rise, let us remember that caring for our neighbors is one of the simplest ways we can live out our faith.

Extreme heat can be dangerous, especially for older adults, young children, people experiencing homelessness, and those without access to air conditioning.

Here are a few ways you can help:

Stay hydrated and avoid prolonged time outdoors during the hottest part of the day.

Check in on a neighbor, friend, or loved one who may be more vulnerable to the heat.• Offer a bottle of water, a cool place to rest, or help someone get to a cooling center if they need it.

Never leave children or pets in a parked car.

Our faith teaches us to love our neighbors. Not only in word, but in action. During this heat wave, we must extend compassion, care, and hospitality to all.

Stay safe, stay cool, and take care of one another.
