“...[But this] can take place only as those who are loved by God and love Him in return enjoy and make use of the freedom to love one another. If it is ever the case that they seem to be missing God’s love and their own love for God...the root of the trouble may be quite simply that they are not ready to make use of this freedom, and are not engaged in this confirmation of God’s love and their own love for Him.” - Karl Barth, /Church Dogmatics IV.2/

Join us this Sunday as we celebrate the 3rd Sunday of Easter, welcome new members, and continue our series Restoration of Shalom: Relational Repair.

Plan to head over to the Liberty One food court after the service to make some new friends at our Connection Lunch!

If you came to our Ash Wednesday service, you received the first of the Lenten Devotional Zines, part of the Aesthetics of Shalom project at Resurrection. If not, good news: it is available for download! Each week in Lent, artists from the Artists' Parish will create 8.5 x 11-inch zine templates with Lenten texts and an invitation to meditate on and engage with Jesus' journey to the cross using different guided artistic activities—drawing, poetry, writing, sculpture, collage. You don't need to "be an artist" to use these templates—they are for anyone who is interested in knowing how God uses the act of creating to help us see "all things new."

Happy New Year! Join us TOMORROW, January 2, for the premiere of a new work, Flesh of a Door, by sculptural fiber artist Dot Jackson. This is the second commission of The Aesthetics of Shalom, a series of artworks guiding us through the liturgical year. This piece ushers us into Epiphany.

Dot Jackson is a multidisciplinary artist working in fiber and construction materials. She works with themes around the body, the home, and the space between the concrete and the ethereal world. In Flesh of a Door, Jackson creates a series of satin casts of a door to study its intimacies and impressions. Through this work, she remains curious about the symbolic nature that entrances, departures, boundaries, and portals hold, all while considering their spiritual, physical, and incarnational significance.

The evening is a special time to interact with Dot and hear her presentation about the work and her creative process—all complemented by a wine and cheese reception.
