UU Mt. Airy: Spiritually Diverse, Open to All, Committed to Justice

UU Mt. Airy: Spiritually Diverse, Open to All, Committed to Justice A Unitarian-Universalist congregation worshipping in a historically Universalist sanctuary. Please RSVP Both began in Europe hundreds of years ago.

We're a spiritually diverse community, open to all, and committed to justice. Sunday Services livestream here at 11am- childcare available in person. Unitarian Universalism is a liberal religious tradition that was formed from the merger of two different religions: Unitarianism and Universalism. In America, the Universalist Church of America was founded in 1793, and the American Unitarian Associat

ion in 1825. In 1961, these denominations merged to form a new religion, Unitarian Universalism through the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA). Both religions have long histories and have contributed important theological concepts that remain central to Unitarian Universalism. Originally, all Unitarians were Christians who didn't believe in the Holy Trinity of God (Father, Son, and Holy Ghost), but in the unity, or single aspect, of God. Later, Unitarian beliefs stressed the importance of rational thinking, a direct relationship with God, and the humanity of Jesus. Universalism emerged as a Christian denomination with a central belief in universal salvation; that is, that all people will eventually be reconciled with God. Since the merger of the two denominations in 1961, Unitarian Universalism has nurtured its Unitarian and Universalist heritages to provide a strong voice for social justice and liberal religion.

Religious Revolutionaries:
How Crossing Religious Boundaries Becomes an Act of Liberation

UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST CHURCH IN CHERRY HILL
401 Kings Highway North (between Chapel Ave. & Church Rd.)
Cherry Hill, NJ 08034

Thanks to a generous anonymous donation to the Unitarian Universalist Church in Cherry Hill (UUCCH), we are launching an annual lecture series, open for the general public, focused on Religious Pluralism. Each year's lecture will feature a notable religious scholar or leader, speaking on a topic relevant to interfaith dialogue and relationships, comparative religious perspectives, and/or promoting religious diversity and understanding.

This year UUCCH is honored to inaugurate this lecture series with Dr. Monica A. Coleman. Dr. Coleman is a respected and influential theologian and scholar, who has written on process theology, womanist theology, faith and mental health, and many other topics. She is also a multi-religious practitioner, both as an ordained Christian clergyperson in the African Methodist Episcopal tradition, and as one who practices the African spiritual tradition of Ifa. Her lecture will be entitled:

Religious Revolutionaries:
How Crossing Religious Boundaries Becomes an Act of Liberation

Suggested donations are $20, or $10 for students and low income. We will make the recording of the lecture available to anyone who registers in advance - email [email protected] to register.

In 2025, the UUA reiterated its opposition to such military action. We do so again today, and every day these armed attacks continue.
