Serve Philly 2026 – it was a joy and a blessing to serve the community this past weekend in different ways, including at The Table, AlphaCare, helping our neighbors, building a roof, and working on some projects in the church space. We are grateful for everyone that came out to serve!

Volunteer Highlight! Meet Lourdes from the Kids Rock Team!

“I have a deep heart for serving the body of Christ, and the children are a part of that body! Over time I’ve seen how the skills and experiences God has given me have naturally led me into working with children and families. It’s a joy to prepare for Sunday morning and then see the body all in action as our volunteers lead the kids through worship, bible readings, crafts and games. I also love being a part of bridging the adults and our kids! This can be through sharing what the kids are doing every Sunday at our morning huddle or bringing in the adults in being a part of the Lord’s work whether that is through having them volunteer with us on Sunday or at VBS, or praying for our kids through milestones or through family Sunday. Serving at Bedrock has allowed me to feel more connected to the church as a whole and I’m thankful for that opportunity.

Through serving, I have deepened my understanding of grace through the Lord’s people at Bedrock. And honestly not only grace, in general, my understanding of God’s character has deepened through his people. My brokenness and flaws are not defining me and it has given me the freedom to serve with margin. Grace is always extended in a way that motivates me to put my best foot forward and to give back to the body in whatever capacity possible.”

Volunteer Highlight! Meet Anissa and Eric from the Worship Team!

“I love serving on the worship team, as music has been a key way that I have connected with God since I was a child. It’s such a joy to be part of a team that helps usher our church family into God’s presence where we can lift our voices together as one body in worship. Worship through music is vital as it unifies us, lifts our eyes off ourselves, and touches deep places in our hearts that need healing, restoration or even a reminding of the truth of who our God is!

God has shown me how every part of our church body is vital. God has uniquely given us all different Giftings and passions so that together we can be complete, serve one another, and be a reflection of Him in our community. God continues to show me how we can never out give him! As we serve on a team and pour out ourselves - even on days we are tired - God gives us all that we need and fills us with so much joy! As we give away what He has given us, He fills us with so much more than we could imagine.”

Volunteer Highlight! Meet Julia and Rayanne from the Hospitality Team!

“Hospitality team came about because I had a desire and there was a need for people to be known by God and one another! It can be intimidating to walk into a church for the first time so I desire to help people to have a soft place to land when they come in and feel that all are welcome in this space whether they’ve never been to church or are looking for a home church in fishtown.

I have experienced the Gospel through serving on hospitality. Jesus was a friend to sinners and has compassion on us. I have learned how to have a a greater dependance on the Lord in serving in this way by listening for His Spirit and loving others as He loves us- with compassion and openness.“

Meet Laurel from the Set-up & Tear Down Team!

“I choose to serve on the cleanup crew at Bedrock because it’s a practical way for me to serve the church and community. It has been deeply meaningful to serve behind the scenes, knowing that I’m supporting the church’s mission to create a welcoming place where people can encounter God and feel like they belong and are loved.

Serving in the cleanup crew has reminded me that following Jesus means setting aside my own plans or priorities to give my time and energy to others. I didn’t expect how staying after service would help me build deeper relationships with other members and connect with newcomers. It’s become my way to love the church, grow in humility, build community, and draw closer to Jesus.”

Thank you to the community and to our volunteers for showing up on Saturday for our fourth annual Summer Splash! We had beautiful weather, fun water games and slides, good food, and most importantly, a wonderful time connecting and sharing the love of Christ with the community. Thank you to Bedrock Church Franklin County for serving alongside us this weekend!

And a huge thank you to Norris Square Park for their efforts in preparing the park & for keeping it clean and beautiful!

Vacation Bible School is just around the corner and we would love to see your kids (Kindergarten - 6th grade) there! Join us from July 27-30, 2026 from 6-8:30pm.
