Annual Collaborative Scholarship Testing Process

The Collaborative Scholarship Testing Process is a program offered by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia Office of Catholic Education where 8th grade students all over the greater Philadelphia area have the opportunity to sit for one HSPT and have their scores sent to up to three of the 15 Archdiocesan High Schools of their choice.

Known as the "Father of the Poor," St. Thomas of Villanova lived in a society and a Church surrounded by wealth and privilege. Despite this, Thomas lived always as a poor and humble servant of God, giving generously to the poor and working tirelessly to restore dignity to the forgotten.

Today, we recognize the International Day of Charity. Founded on September 5th to commemorate the anniversary of the passing away of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, this day provides an opportunity to incorporate charitable actions into your own life.

The St. Nicholas of Tolentine Italian Festival begins on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at 12:00 PM with a tradition that has been part of South Philadelphia for more than a century.

Our Opening Ceremonies and Procession of the Saints will fill 9th Street with faith, music, and Italian heritage as statues are carried through the neighborhood, accompanied by the stirring sounds of the Verdi Band.

It’s a beautiful way to begin a day filled with food, music, family, and tradition. Join us from 12:00–8:00 PM on the 1700 block of South 9th Street. 🇮🇹

"Everyone here today has a broken heart. All of us have known the pain of a broken relationship, we have been hurt and we have caused hurt. Still, Jesus welcomes us around this table to remind us that through his cross he has paid for our sins, faults and mistakes. He offers us his love, mercy and forgiveness without cost and calls us to share those gifts with others. May you know and feel the love with out limitation that Jesus offers you and no longer allow your past to hurt your present."
