Good Morning~
What a crazy season of soccer we have endured. Thank you for your patience as we have tried to wait out the virus and make decisions that are best for all of us. Your safety is the most important thing to us. We do not want to be the cause of an outbreak or exposure to further the challenging times we are facing. We want to put health and safety first.
We now feel we have waited as long as we can to make a final call on this season of Upward Soccer. I hope you know that we want to have soccer. But with a continuation of social distancing requirements for an unknown length of time and with the challenge of summer heat, we have made the choice to cancel the remainder of the season. The timing is not right to resume, and we do not want to continue to wait any longer. This decision will allow you to move on with your summer and allow us to make plans for next season. Registration for 2021 will be open on December 15, unless circumstances demand a delay.
We are thankful to have played one game and that we were able to get to know you for a brief time this year. I hope you feel we have put forth our best effort despite the challenges we have faced. We are disappointed, as I am sure you are too.
The next question I'm sure on your mind is, "what about a refund?" Each season we charge a set amount for registration. We partner with Upward Soccer from South Carolina, who provides all of the program support, including coaching apps, player boxes, coaching instruction, referee support and overall league organization. We take all they provide and make it happen on the ground here. We pay them $54.00 per registered child and we use the rest to run the league. So, as you can imagine, the bills have been paid in order to receive the items for your child.
I understand that money is always a touchy subject with folks. I also know that other leagues in our community have offered no refunds and played no games. We want to make sure that you know it is not about the money for us, it is about providing you with a positive experience. So; we are offering you three options to choose from:
1. You can request a partial refund. The refund amount will be the difference between what we have already paid Upward for what you received and what we charged you. We have set that amount at $25.00 per player.
2. You can request a discount of $25.00 toward your registration for next season.
3. You can allow your investment to stand and request neither.

It will take another week to process your request if seeking a partial refund.
