Church of God In Jesus Name Apostolic The Church of God In Jesus Name at Phelps, KY was founded in March 1966 under the leadership of five trustees; namely: Rev.

Opie Harris, Hansel Lester, Aris Ratliff, Russell Ratliff, and Oliver Harris Jr. The groundbreaking ceremony was held on May 30, 1966, with the first service being held in October. Over the years, various additions and stages of remodeling have taken place. Due to the tremendous blessings of God and dedicated people with a vision, we recently celebrated our 43rd anniversary!! It is our desire to continue to be a beacon of light to our community and all those we come in contact with.

Pastor Opie Harris has been leading us for 60 years (next month)
Rev. David and Sis. Tammi Norman have been members for many years and stepped into the role of Associate Pastor in December of 2022.
We are blessed!

Just jumping on here to give a praise report of all that’s been taking place in the past couple months.
Our aesthetic renovations to our sanctuary are almost complete. Next step is carpet and pew re-upholstery.
The greatest thing is: We have had baptisms the past 4 weeks in a roll! AND!! We have them scheduled for the next 2 Sundays! How awesome🙌🏻🙌🏻

God is truly blessing and we are forever in awe of His mighty works.

We have recently been blessed to make some aesthetic renovations to the church. All the ceilings and walls have been painted. The ends of the pews have been redone. Faux beams have been placed throughout the sanctuary ceiling. Airstone is going up in the foyer. Our evangelistic quarters has new wood flooring and vanity for the bathroom.
Updates are ongoing and we have quite a ways to go still. We are truly thankful for God’s blessings on us.
