Dearest Church Family,
The Bishop's Committee of Saint Joan of Arc Episcopal Church met with Canons Mullins and Gaventa from the Episcopal Diocese of Texas. Canon Mullins gave us a letter informing us that the Diocese will cease all financial support for Saint Joan's effective March 7, 2026.
The entire Bishop’s Committee, including our incoming BC Candidate Jerry Jensen, Father Terry Gleeson, and parish administrator Paula Haenchen, met in Executive Session immediately afterward to discuss this momentous development. The consensus among your Bishop’s Committee is this action will lead to the forced closure of Saint Joan’s.
We will have a special Christmas Eve service in the conference room at the Best Western Plus (16101 Impact Way, Pflugerville) on December 24th, at 5:00 pm. There will be light refreshments and social time after service. All are welcome.
Regular Sunday Services at 10:00 AM will still continue at the regular location at Events by Pearl (616 FM 685 208 B, Pflugerville) until Sunday, January 18th, 2026.
To help everyone transition into a new parish, we are trying our best to invite nearby parishes to come talk with our congregation.
Mother Pierce from Saint James Taylor will be available to talk with before the 10:00 am service on January 4th.
Father Daniel Rabayo of St. Mary Magdelene in Manor will also be available to speak with on January 4th after service, 2 PM at Pecan Coffee.
We ask for your prayers as you will be in ours. In the interim, if you would like to discuss this or any other matter, please do not hesitate to reach out to Senior Warden Dale Curry, any other member of the Bishop Committee, or Fr. Terry.
In Christ’s Name, we remain your Bishop’s Committee.
