Our youth group is heartbroken by the loss of Mr. Becht. Many of us knew him not only as Lyla, Gavin, & Walkerâs dad, but also as a coach and mentor. His impact reached far beyond his own family, and we know that many of you are feeling this loss.
Grief looks different for everyone. Sometimes it looks like anger, confusion, shock, or unsure feelings. All of these are normal. Remember that grief doesnât follow a schedule. It is okay to ask for help, to talk about your feelings, or simply spend time with those who care about you.
If you or your student need support, weâve gathered grief and loss resources (including Catholic funeral etiquette) here: https://bit.ly/Grief_tips
We will be attending the visitation at 3pm on Sunday and the funeral on Monday. Any students or families who would like to sit with a familiar face are welcome to join us. Please reach out if you have any questions or need any additional support.
Letâs continue to keep the Bechtâs in our prayers and support them in the days and weeks ahead.
Eternal rest grand unto Mr. Becht, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
