Psalm 37:4 is not about conjuring up or wishing for the life you’ve always wanted. And it’s not about doing something to get God to do something for you or give you something. It’s all about your heart, your attitudes, your priorities. I explain that in this blog post, but I also walk you through studying and meditating on this verse.

Our first priority is to delight in the Lord. It is not to seek the desires of our heart.

Apparently there has been some debate about the meaning of koinonia (Christian fellowship/community) as described in Acts 2:42 and the rest of the New Testament. I didn’t know that . . . until I listened to a podcast on the topic. . . .

We must not limit the extent of what this biblical community entails and requires of us. It’s so much more than just hanging out and enjoying one another’s company. . . .

The Christian community we see in the New Testament church and which is available to the church today is one of the greatest, richest gifts God has given his church. . . . It’s a gift, a blessing, that itself is meant to be shared with others—all others—as the Lord adds to our community those who are being saved.

Reading Time: 4 minutes The parables of the lost sheep and the lost coin clearly set up the parable of the lost son(s). And all three parables connect back to the criticism of the religious elite in Luke 15:1-2.
