A blessed Feast of the Nativity of the Mother of God to all Christians Rejoice!

"Today the barren gates are opened,* and the Virgin, the Gate of God, comes forth.* Today grace begins to bear fruit,* showing forth to the world the Mother of God* through whom earth is united to heaven* for the salvation of our souls."

"Today God who dominates the spiritual thrones of heaven* welcomes on earth the holy throne which He had prepared for Himself.* In His love for mankind,* He who established the heavens in wisdom has fashioned a living heaven.* From a barren stem He has brought forth for us His Mother* as a branch full of life.* O God of miracles and hope of those who have no hope;* O Lord, glory to You!"

From Vespers on the New Year:

Wondrous are You, O Lord, and wondrous are Your works, and Your ways are inscrutable,* for You are the Wisdom of God, the perfect Hypostasis and Power,* equally unoriginate and equally ever-existent:* and by Your creative and almighty authority You ineffably entered the world* through Your Mother who knew not man,* seeking to benefit Your creation, not altering in Your divinity,* appointing the times and seasons for our salvation, O Immutable One.* Wherefore, we cry to You: O good Lord, glory to You!

Today begin's the Dormition Fast. Two weeks to prepare for the falling asleep of the Mother of God, Mary Most Holy.

Pray more, fast more, read more, confess more. Take this time to get our spiritual lives back on track. Our Lady recieved the promise given to all of us, to be with God for all eternity, bodily and spiritually. We look forward to what she has now. Let us prepare for that day, starting this day. Glory to Jesus Christ!
