Lord, carry what I cannot carry, because I'm weighed down by burdens too heavy for my shoulders, crushed under weight I was never meant to bear alone.

I'm trying to carry everything myself, all the responsibilities, all the worries, all the problems, all the pain, and it's breaking me, I can't do it anymore.

Teach me to distinguish between what's mine to carry and what's Yours, to recognize when I'm bearing weight You never asked me to hold, to release what's crushing me into Your capable hands.

Some burdens are too heavy for me, some situations too big for my strength, some problems beyond my ability to solve, and I need You to take them because I simply cannot.

Help me actually give You what I say I'm giving You, to stop picking back up what I've laid down, to trust You with burdens I've carried so long they feel like part of me.

Remind me that You're not just willing but wanting to carry what's too heavy for me, that You invited this, that asking You to carry my burdens honors You rather than bothers You.

Give me faith to release my grip on what I cannot carry, courage to admit I need help, trust that what I give You will be held securely.

Let me hand over what I cannot carry today, feeling the weight lift as You take it, free because You carry what I could never hold.

In Jesus' name,

Amen.

We are All Prodigals
It’s easy to look at the "rebellious son" and think, "Well, I’ve never wasted a fortune on wild parties, so I’m not really a prodigal."
But the truth is, we are all prodigals in some way.

Maybe your "far country" isn't a physical place. Maybe it’s a mental space of anxiety where you’ve stopped trusting God. Maybe it’s a heart hardened by resentment or pride. Maybe you’ve become like the Older Brother in the story, the one who stayed home but was angry and self-righteous, refusing to join the party because he thought he was "better" than his brother.
Both sons were lost. One was lost in his rebellion; the other, in his religion. Both needed the Father’s grace.

The Christian life isn't a one-time walk down an aisle. It’s a daily practice of "coming to ourselves" and realizing we’ve drifted. It’s the daily decision to turn our steps back toward the Father’s house.

- Know the Difference. Honor the Meaning.

Not every patriotic holiday carries the same purpose — and deserves our deepest reverence.

Memorial Day is not a celebration. It is a solemn day of remembrance for the men and women who died in service to our country.

Armed Forces Day honors those currently serving.

Veterans Day honors all who have worn the uniform.

At Taps for Veterans, we believe remembrance should never be rushed, confused, or taken for granted. Those who gave their lives for America deserve more than a passing thought — they deserve our pause, our gratitude, and our promise to never forget.

This Memorial Day, let us remember what the day truly means.

🎺 24 notes. One final promise.
