✝️ Today’s Gospel Reflection | Matthew 18:15–20

Today, Jesus reminds us that being people of faith does not mean we will never disagree, hurt one another, or make mistakes. Even within our families, friendships, workplaces, and Church community, there will be moments when we disappoint one another.

But Jesus teaches us something important: when someone hurts us, our first response should not be gossip, anger, or trying to turn others against them. Instead, He asks us to go to that person with love and seek peace.

Sometimes reconciliation is difficult. Sometimes pride gets in the way. And sometimes, even after we have tried our best, the other person may not be ready to make peace. In those moments, we can place the situation in God’s hands, knowing that we have done our part with love.

Jesus also gives us a beautiful promise: “Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

What a comforting reminder for us today. When a family prays together, when friends pray for one another, when our parish gathers for Mass, or even when just two people stop and ask God for help — Jesus is there.

May we be people who bring peace instead of division, understanding instead of judgment, and prayer instead of gossip. And when relationships become difficult, may we remember that Christ is always present when we invite Him into the situation.

🙏 Lord, give us humble hearts. Help us forgive, communicate with love, and seek reconciliation with one another. When there is division among us, be at the center and lead us back to peace. Amen.

📚✏️ A Prayer for the First Day of School 🙏🏽🍎

Heavenly Father,

As our students, teachers, administrators, coaches, and school staff begin a new school year, we place each one of them into Your loving hands. ❤️

Walk with them as they enter their classrooms and hallways today. Calm the nervous hearts, bring excitement to those beginning something new, and give strength to those who may already feel overwhelmed.

Lord, bless our students with open minds, kind hearts, good friendships, and the courage to always do what is right. Help them remember that their worth is not measured by a grade, a test, or the opinions of others, but by the fact that they are wonderfully made and deeply loved by You. ✝️

Bless our teachers, coaches, administrators, and staff with patience, wisdom, understanding, and compassion. When the days become long, remind them that the work they do matters and that even the smallest act of kindness can leave a lasting impact on a child’s life.

Bless our parents and families as they encourage, support, and pray for their children throughout this year. Give them peace when they worry and wisdom when their children need guidance.

Most of all, Lord, place Your protection over our schools. Keep everyone safe in their travels, classrooms, practices, activities, and throughout each day. May our schools be places of learning, respect, friendship, kindness, and peace.

Bless especially our Petersburg ISD students and staff as they begin this new school year. May they know that their community is praying for them and cheering them on. ❤️🤍

Blessed Mother Mary, Seat of Wisdom, wrap our students and educators in your mantle and lead them always closer to your Son.

St. Thomas Aquinas, patron saint of students, pray for us.
St. John Baptist de La Salle, patron saint of teachers, pray for us.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, watch over our schools and families. ❤️‍🔥

May this school year be filled with growth, laughter, learning, new beginnings, and countless blessings.
