Join us at 10:00 AM this Sunday, when the sermon topic will be: Living Stones

Now you are coming to him as to a living stone. Even though this stone was rejected by humans, from God’s perspective it is chosen, valuable. You yourselves are being built like living stones into a spiritual temple. You are being made into a holy priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
. . . You have become this people so that you may speak of the wonderful acts of the one who called you out of darkness into his amazing light. Once you weren’t a people, but now you are God’s people. Once you hadn’t received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
1 Peter 2:4-5, 9a-10 (Common English Bible)

Change in Worship time this Sunday ONLY. We will have worship at 10:00 AM and Sunday School at 11:00 AM.
Pastor Eric needs to be in Virginia Beach for a funeral early that afternoon, and we are making this adjustment to avoid having to find a guest preacher.
We will be back to 11:00 AM worship next week! Please join us!

"I love the Biblical passage in The Book of Galatians that reminds me to care for others and also the verse that encourages me not to grow weary in doing good" -- Bishop Julius C. Trimble

🎵 "When all around my soul gives way,
he then is all my hope and stay."

The hymn "My Hope Is Built" (no. 368 in The United Methodist Hymnal) was written as an expression of the "Gracious Experience of a Christian." Written by Edward Mote, a former cabinet maker who became a minister at age 55, the song is full of reminders of Christ's ever present love--even in the midst of trying times.

💭 Have you witnessed s reminder of Christ's presence lately?

Alfred Henry Ackley wrote the hymn "He Lives" (no. 310 in The United Methodist Hymnal) as a response to a couple encounters with disbelief. When faced with questions regarding his faith in Jesus, Ackley noted that he felt Christ's ongoing presence in his everyday life. Christ lived in him and those around him.

🎶 "He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me Along life’s narrow way.
He lives, He lives, salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives:
He lives within my heart."

💭 Where or when have you witnessed the living presence of Jesus lately?
