Love For Us

"Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (NLT)" -Romans 8:35

"The answer to these questions is an emphatic NO! Nothing can separate Christ from us once we ask Him into our hearts. But also realize that troubles are NOT an indication that God is withholding His love for us. Calamity, persecution, hunger, destitution, danger, and death are all a result of living in a broken world."

Roots

"And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. (NLT)" -Colossians 2:6-7

"The Christian life is never stagnant. Once we accept Jesus we must continue to be vigilant in the choice to follow after Him. As we grow in our understanding of who He is, the Bible, and grow strong ties to other Believers then deep roots of faith grow in our lives. When we are rooted in our faith we are able to stand strong when we go through the storms of this life."

Fix Your Thoughts

"And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. (NLT)"
-Philippians 4:8

"Our culture is obsessed with bad news, worst-case-scenarios, and knows that fear sells. God knows that when our minds are continuously inundated with stories of evil and harm we suffer. The Bible gives us practical advice on how to guard against anxiety. We are instructed to fix our thoughts on what is lovely, praiseworthy, right, pure, and true. Make a list of things you are thankful for, things that you can give God praise for, and take time to read his true word. These simple steps are a powerful help in giving you peace of mind. "

Guard Your Heart

"Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. (NLT)" -Proverbs 4:23

"Solomon, the wisest man, told us to guard our hearts. It can be easy for our hearts to be deceived if we lack awareness. The best solution is to surround ourselves with Godly people and listen to their advice, as it's difficult to see deception ourselves. Is there an area in your life where more than one person has been trying to tell you something?"

Without Complaint

"Do everything without complaining and arguing, (NLT)" -Philippians 2:14

"Have you ever noticed that most of your social media feed is filled with complaints and arguments? It has become commonplace in a world that gives us a way to have hard conversations online rather than face-to-face to use that space to vent all our concerns, frustrations, and to argue. As Believers we are called to a higher standard. This does not mean we go through life opinionless but it does mean we use wisdom and discernment on how we communicate with others. We can be God’s light through our words and nowadays also through what we type, post, and share online too!"

Take Courage

"But Jesus spoke to them at once. ""Don't be afraid,"" he said. ""Take courage! I am here!"" (NLT)" -Mark 6:50

"What do you fear? Is it financial ruin, loneliness, pain, poor health, or the collapse of your family? When you feel afraid, and fear has its strong grip on you, remember this: God is with you. Acknowledging this will allow you to conquer your fear and steady your steps. As you move forward, step by step, your fear will fade away as you recognize that your strength is with God. He is with you."

Live New Lives

"For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. (NLT)" -Romans 6:4

"Jesus came to Earth to prove God’s love in a way that we would understand. If He had come down just as a deity in all his glory and power then we may be able to dismiss Him not being able to truly know what it is to be human. His humanity is what makes his willingness to give his life for us so compelling. His actions are a model for what our lives as Christians should look like. When we become Christ-followers we give up our old lives and begin living new God-inspired lives! "

Good News

"And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. (NLT)" -Mark 16:15

"Our lives can get filled with busyness, entertainment, family life, responsibilities, and on the list goes. We can get so distracted that we forget to pursue one of the most central commands of our faith which is that we are called to share the Good News of Jesus with everyone! How today can you be intentional about offering someone who needs God’s love a taste of who He is through your actions? It could be texting someone you love a verse that speaks to their situation. You could make a card for a lonely or grieving neighbor. Maybe it’s making time to have coffee with a lost friend that you know could use a listening ear. Let’s prioritize sharing the Good News as our hurting world needs to hear this message more than ever before! "

Armor of God

Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. (NLT) -Ephesians 6:11

"Do you ever feel vulnerable to attack? Are you afraid that your responses to provocation may cause you to be unrighteous? Don't go into battle unprotected; instead, clothe yourself in God's armor. In verses 14-18, Paul characterizes this armor as truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation. He then finishes with the action of praying. Trust that God will equip you with the tools you need."

Show Me

"Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies. They will receive the LORD ’s blessing and have a right relationship with God their savior. (NLT)" -Psalm 24:4-5

"This Psalm is an invitation for the Lord to move in your life! David wrote this Psalm and was asking God to be a part of the details of his life. He says show me the right way to go! Help me find the truth! Teach me how to be a follower of you! And he declares his faith when he says I will put my hope in you. This prayer is a powerful prayer we can declare over our own lives. God may you show us, lead us, and teach us everyday!"
