Perryville Methodist Church Remembers.

Lord God,
On this Memorial Day, we give thanks for all those who demonstrated the nature of sacrificial love through their service and the giving of themselves fully for others. Help us to honor their memory not only with words, but by living lives of compassion, courage and love. Remind us of Christ’s greatest example of sacrificial love, and teach us to walk in His way each day.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” - John 15:13

Tonight our church was struck by lightning and, it is only through God’s infinite mercy that our beloved building did not suffer greater damage. Our bell tower sustained damage and our electrical system requires inspection and repairs but mercifully, there was no fire.
We are grateful to all the fire companies that responded so quickly at the reports of the church being struck and smoke showing at the tower. We are also grateful for our neighbors who called so quickly when they saw the church hit by lightning.
God was with us tonight, as He is always and for that we praise Him and thank Him.

The Lord will keep you from all harm, He will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. (Psalm 121:7-8)
