The End of an Era & The Road Ahead
As we move forward with redistricting, effective Wednesday, July 1st, this will be the final edition of the East Winds Newsletter. With this transition, the East Winds District will conclude its ministry as our 75 churches are reorganized into other districts.
Twelve churches will join Greater Detroit District under the leadership of District Superintendent Rev. Dr. Darryl Totty and Executive Assistant Dwanda Hayton. The remaining 63 churches will become part of the newly formed Central Shores District, led by the Current East Winds District and Central Bay District Superintendent Rev. John Kasper and Central Bay District's Executive Assistant Melanie Zalewski.
Our current Executive Assistant, Jodi Fuller, will transition back to the conference level, where she will continue serving as Conference Immigration Specialist, while also serving in a split role as Executive Assistant to the Conference DS and Executive Assistant to the Clergy Assistant to the Bishop.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of our churches for your partnership and support throughout the life of the East Winds District. It has been a privilege to serve alongside each of you. We look forward to continuing to celebrate your ministry and achievements in the seasons ahead.
