My name is Ryan. Iโm 32 years old and grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii, with my three siblings. I was raised in a loving home, and my parents gave us a good life by the worldโs standards, but we did not know Jesus.

I started using ma*****na in high school, which eventually led to crack co***ne. Over time, addiction took over my life. I chose that lifestyle over my family and everything else. At that time, my son was 2 years old. Eventually, his mother left and moved back to California because she was tired of the way I was living. This broke me and made me realize I needed help. I decided to go to U-Turn Kauai, where God began changing my heart and my life.

Within the first couple of weeks of the program, God made a way for me to fly to the Perris Ranch for the Pig Roast, where I saw my son for the first time in four years. In that moment, I felt God calling me to be the father and man He created me to be.

Later, God brought me to U-Turn For Christ Perris. Through U-Turn For Christ, I found purpose in my life as a leader here on the ranch and as a father to my son. God is allowing me to be a present dad. Going to his ball games and spending time with him every other weekend is an answer to prayer and a testimony of Godโs goodness.

Today, I wake up grateful that God saved me from myself. I now know He has a plan and purpose for my life, and for the first time, I am excited about my future. - Ryan
