Submit to one another? That is almost like a dirty word in some conversations today.

But in God’s plan for relationships and families it is an incredibly beautiful thing. Love is not what you can take or manipulate. It is what you freely give. Putting someone else’s well-being before your own seems illogical, but selfishness is completely incompatible with love.

Do you care what other people think of you? Does it bother you if people don't like you? Sadly for many of us our identity is tied up in what others think. But trying to please everyone is not only exhausting, it can cause us real harm physically, emotionally, and spiritually. When we become people-pleasers, life becomes a no-win, life-draining task because our happiness is now in the hands of others.

We need God's truth to remind us that only one approval really matters. God doesn't condemn or judge you. For everyone who is in Christ Jesus, God smiles on you with approval.

“Life should be easy” - Let’s face it...Americans have more gadgets designed to make life easier than any other nation on earth. (For example: garage door openers, microwave ovens, central air, automatic dishwashers, etc..) While finding ways to make life easier makes sense, it often spirals into the lie that believes life should be easy.
Nowhere has God promised that. In fact, life is anything but easy at times. What we find when we replace this lie with God’s truth is that pain and difficulty serves a Godly purpose worth celebrating. We can take heart, because Jesus gives us the victory of heaven!
