Dear church family,

This Sunday we begin a new worship series called When God Makes All Things New, and we’ll spend the next several weeks reflecting on the quiet but powerful ways God creates, calls, strengthens, and sends His people. The theme is rooted in the presence of God at work among us, especially in those seasons when the way ahead is not fully clear but faith still calls us forward.

Our first message is “The Spirit Over the Waters,” drawn from Genesis 1, Psalm 8, 2 Corinthians 13, and Matthew 28. We’ll begin where Scripture begins: with God present over the deep, bringing light, life, order, and purpose into what had not yet taken shape. That same promise carries into Jesus’ words to His disciples: “Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

I hope this series will encourage us to trust that God is still at work in unfinished places. He does not wait until everything is clear before He draws near, and He does not send His people forward alone. The God who spoke light into darkness is still present with His church, still shaping us by grace, and still making all things new.

We’d love to see you Sunday at 9:30 AM. Please stick around after the service for our 5th Sunday Lunch and a special meeting!

Hey faith family - this is almost getting funny!

Our plans for the Saturday cleanup and men's breakfast are still a go but Saturday's weather forecast is not looking so hot. It's still too early to tell. We're going to keep the cleanup day on the books. We'll drop the mulch in a dry spot, like maybe in the pavilion, and hopefully the weather will cooperate. If not, we'll have an earlier breakfast. Remember, we'll be meeting at the church at 8AM.

For the men - bring your work boots, gloves, and bring a friend! We're going out for breakfast after we work at the church. There's stuff to do inside and out at the church. We'll choose a spot nearby, like Willow Street Restaurant for some breakfast. If the weather stinks, it will be breakfast instead of brunch.

Ladies! Remember the following weekend, May 16th, is breakfast at the Centerville Diner! If you haven't, please let Nancy know if you plan on attending so she has an accurate headcount for reservations.

Blessings,
PK

Saturday Outdoor Cleanup Rescheduled...Again

Good evening all,

With schedules and conflicts for this coming Saturday, people being away who we kind of need for things like transporting large amounts of mulch, we're postponing the cleanup Saturday to May 9th, which will also coincide with our Men's Breakfast which will now be our Men's Brunch!

So, long story short - guys, put on those work boots, bring those work gloves, head on down to the church for 8AM on Saturday, May 9th, so we can knock out some groundskeeping around the outside of the church, and then stick around for a delicious breakfast provided courtesy of the women of the church (for whom we are extremely grateful!)

Ladies! The following weekend, May 16th, breakfast at the Centerville Diner - please let Nancy know if you plan on attending so she has an accurate headcount for reservations.

Blessings,
PK

Saturday Outdoor Cleanup Rescheduled

With the forecast being for nearly dawn to dusk rain on Saturday, we're rescheduling the outdoor cleanup at the church to next Saturday, May 2nd - which is hard to believe it's already going to be May!

Blessings,

Good morning church family! Sorry for the long post.

Over the past few months, a few have talked with me and I’ve been thinking about something we don’t always get time to do on Sunday mornings. Not just reading Scripture, but learning how to actually work through it well, and having the time to really talk about it.

The reality is there’s no shortage of Bible studies out there, but not all of them are...well...good. Some of them are downright awful or just wrong. And from some of our conversations, I know some of us might not feel fully comfortable or confident yet with studying Scripture on our own. I've gotten the sense that many want to know how to read the Bible...better?

So, I’m considering putting together some hour-long, interactive, online studies that go for maybe 4-6 weeks where we’d walk through a book of the Bible, topic, or passage and talk through how to understand it in context. Not just what it says, but how to read it faithfully. We'll use some recommended resources for study, and explore techniques for digging into the Word. It would be simple, interactive, and you could join from home.

Ultimately, the goals would be to study together, but also to equip you to feel more confident in your own Bible reading.

If that sounds like something you’d be interested in, please shoot me a message at [email protected]. I’m just trying to get a sense of interest before I start putting it together.

Blessings,
PK

They weren’t heroes. They were afraid, uncertain, and often wrong. But then they encountered the risen Christ, and everything changed.

Starting this week and running through Pentecost we'll be exploring how the resurrection, and the Holy Spirit, rewrote the lives of the earliest believers…and what that means for us.

We had a fantastic set of Easter Sunday services between the shared service at Safe Harbor, and our 9:30 service at Marticville. Children of all ages enjoyed finding the surprises of "tiny Jesus" figures hidden throughout the sanctuary.

We may be finding Jesus for a while... 😉

Mary came to the tomb expecting to tend to what was left behind.
Instead, she was sent out to announce what had begun.

In case you were curious, brothers and sisters, I checked. It was still empty.

Come raise your voices with the other Easter people tomorrow, 9:30AM, 641 Marticville Rd.

With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

Tonight at Marticville we hold our Maundy Thursday meal. Many hold a service, but we have found there's a deep connection we make when, much like the disciples, we share fellowship, a meal, and Holy communion around the table, and consider the final acts of Jesus before His crucifixion.

If you are looking for a different experience, there's a seat at the table. 6pm, 641 Marticville Rd.
