On Tuesday, June 16 Holy Spirit parishioners were blessed with a celebration of the Holy Mass here at Holy Spirit by Fr. Lucas Folan, newly ordained to the priesthood on Saturday, June 13 by Bishop Kevin Sweeney at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Paterson.

Many of us will remember when Lucas Folan served Holy Spirit Parish during the summer of 2024. Among his many gifts to us, Lucas as a seminarian played a key role in our Vacation Bible School, helped to serve with the Holy Spirit team at Eva’s Village, helped to guide and recognize altar servers, and led a book club during his time here.

More recently, Fr. Cesar attended and vested Deacon Lucas at his diaconate ordination on October 2, 2025 at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.

We are happy and grateful to now be able to call our seminarian friend, “Fr. Lucas”.

(Fr. Cesar Jaramillo, Pastor): “What an amazing way to end our school year!

As we bring this 2025-2026 academic year to a close, our school and parish community of Holy Spirit gathered to celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.

We echoed the prayer of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops as they consecrated our nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the 250th anniversary of our Declaration of Independence:”

O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus:

You know the longings of our hearts, and you desire that we enjoy friendship with you. From your pierced side, you have poured out the wellspring of life, for which we thirst. Your heart burns with a love for all people to return to a right relationship with you.

We celebrate the abundant gifts you have given this nation, founded on the self-evident truths that our Creator has endowed all people with the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We make reparation for the offenses against you and against human dignity that have taken place in this nation.

May our hearts be united to yours, so that our families and communities enjoy peace and happiness; may broken relationships be reconciled, injustices repaired, and the wounds of our land be healed.

May your holy Catholic Church serve as a sign, pointing all people to your infinite love.

O Desire of Nations and Center of History, we ask you to bless these United States of America.

Who live and reign with God the Father

in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

God, for ever and ever.

Amen.

Holy Spirit’s own pastor, Father Cesar Jaramillo, has been deeply involved in organizing massive public gatherings and outdoor Masses throughout the Diocese of Paterson.

Please be reminded that the Sunday 7PM Mass at Holy Spirit is cancelled for this weekend only to enable as many as possible to participate in the pilgrimage.
