Some highlights from our parish family picnic on Sunday, May 31 following the 10AM Mass:
* A wide assortment of fun activities for the kids.
* Sr. Marie and Fr. Cesar joining in the games—having as much fun and being more competitive than the children.
* Fr. Cesar declaring victory with the last unpopped water balloon.
* Rita’s Italian ice donation.
* Grilling done by the Pequannock Knights of Columbus, Bishop Navagh Council #5943 for the fourth year.
* Our team of joyful and dedicated volunteers
* But most important—our parish family which came out in great numbers to enjoy a beautiful day after our 10AM Mass!

Our diocesan Annual Corpus Christi food collection is June 6/7. Historically, Catholic Charities’ pantries see a dramatic drop in donations during the summer months, while the need—particularly for families whose children are no longer receiving school meals—remains critically high.

Donations from this drive stock the shelves to carry the pantries through the summer.The food collected supports the three main Catholic Charities food pantries in the diocese:Father English Food Pantry (Paterson)Hope House (Dover)Partnership for Social Services (Franklin)

Holy Spirit Parish has been asked to donate instant oatmeal and canned fruit.

On Thursday, May 14,Stephen Kass led the final FIDE presentation of the academic year in front of a group of parishioners and guests, presenting “Theology and Sports: Discipline leads to Virtue”.

Steve drew parallels between saints and athletes in following the Cardinal Virtues of Prudence, Temperance, Fortitude and Justice.

—“Sport can help us encounter the Triune God because it requires a movement of the self toward the other.” (Pope Leo XIV).

The FIDE workshops will continue on September 17. Topics to be announced.
