Today's sermon is on Genesis, Chapter 27, verses 1 to 29
Title: Jacob and Esau, Part 1

Isaac becomes old and blind, he plans to bless Esau. Rebekah helps Jacob disguise himself as Esau and bring food to Isaac. Jacob, who had already obtained Esau's birthright earlier, deceives Isaac and receives the special blessing of prosperity, authority, and God's favor that Isaac intended for Esau.

Today's sermon title "Isaac and Abimelech, Part 2"
In Genesis 26:17–35, Isaac moved away from Gerar and dug several wells. Although other herdsmen argued over the first two wells, Isaac chose not to fight and kept moving on. Eventually, he found a well where there was no dispute, showing that God had made room for him to prosper. Later, God appeared to Isaac at Beersheba and renewed His promise to bless him. Seeing that God was with Isaac, Abimelech made a peace treaty with him. The chapter ends by noting that Esau married Hittite women, which caused grief to his parents.

Pastor Steve is continuing to preach on the Book of Genesis. Join us on Sunday's at 11:30 am to listen to the Word of God.

In Book of Genesis 26:1–16, a famine hits the land, and God tells Isaac not to go to Egypt but to stay in Gerar. God repeats the covenant He made with Abraham, promising Isaac land, descendants, and blessing.

Isaac settles among the Philistines and says his wife Rebekah is his sister because he fears for his life. King Abimelech later discovers the truth and protects them.

Isaac becomes very successful, gaining wealth, livestock, and servants. The Philistines grow jealous and stop up the wells that Abraham’s servants had dug.

"The Closing Days of Abraham" in Genesis 25:1-34

After Sarah died, Abraham married Keturah and had more children. Even so, his son Isaac remained the chosen heir through whom God’s covenant would continue. Before Abraham died at 175 years old, he gave gifts to his other sons and sent them away, while Isaac received the main inheritance. Isaac and Ishmael came together peacefully to bury their father.

Later, Isaac and his wife Rebekah struggled to have children, but after Isaac prayed, Rebekah became pregnant with twins. The babies fought within her womb, and God told her that two nations were inside her and that the older son would serve the younger. The first baby born was Esau, who was red and hairy. The second was Jacob, born holding Esau’s heel.

As they grew up, Esau became a hunter while Jacob stayed near the tents. One day Esau came home exhausted and hungry while Jacob was cooking stew. Jacob offered him food only if Esau would sell his birthright—the special inheritance and leadership rights of the firstborn son. Esau agreed and traded his birthright for a meal. The chapter ends by saying Esau despised his birthright, showing he cared more about immediate hunger than the greater blessing he was giving away.

Today's Sermon on this beautiful Mother's Day
In Book of Genesis 24:49–67, Abraham’s servant asks Rebekah’s family to decide whether she will marry Isaac. Her family agrees after hearing how God guided the servant. Rebekah chooses to go with him, and they bless her before she leaves.
The servant brings Rebekah to Isaac in Canaan. Isaac sees her while meditating in the field, and Rebekah respectfully covers herself. The servant tells Isaac everything that happened, and Isaac marries Rebekah. He loves her, and she comforts him after the death of his mother Sarah.
