Born So He Could Come

Today the Church celebrates the birth of Mary. Not because her story ends with her, but because God was already preparing a home for Jesus.

Saint Maximilian Kolbe wrote, “We must introduce the Immaculate into the hearts of men that there She may erect the throne of Her Son and lead all to the knowledge of Him and inflame them to a love of His Most Sacred Heart.”

If your heart feels crowded, tired, or closed, this feast is for you. Welcome her today. She knows how to make a place for her Son.
Prayer for the Day

O Immaculata, on the day we honor your birth, come into my heart. Set up the throne of Jesus there and teach me to love Him.

Saint Maximilian Kolbe wrote, “With the help of the Immaculate we are capable of everything.”

That does not mean life becomes easy. It means you are no longer limited to your own strength. What you cannot finish, she can. What you cannot hold together, she can place in the Hands of Jesus.

You were not meant to live this faith on empty. Give her the work, the worry, and the weakness. She does not keep them. She carries them to her Son and returns with the grace you actually need.

O Immaculata, I am not capable on my own. Help me, and make me capable of loving Jesus well today.

Saint Maximilian Kolbe wrote, “Through the Immaculate, we can become great saints, and what is more, in an easy way.” He was not promising a life without effort. He was promising a path that does not depend on how strong you feel. Holiness is hard when you try to carry it alone. It becomes possible when you let her form Jesus in you.
God is not asking you to become a saint by force of will. He is asking you to give yourself to the mother who already knows how to raise saints for her Son.

Prayer for the Day
O Immaculata, I do not want the hard way that ends in myself. Form Jesus in me and make holiness possible.

Saint Maximilian Kolbe wrote, “He alone will spend his life well who constantly turns to the Immaculata. In her alone is the pledge of our perseverance and sanctification.”

That is not a small claim. He was saying the sure way to finish what God began in you is to keep turning to her. She does not replace Jesus. She is the one who keeps a soul from walking away from Him.

If you have started and stopped a hundred times, this is still for you. Turn to her again today. Perseverance is not something you have to manufacture. It is something she obtains for you from her Son.

O Immaculata, I turn to you again. Keep me faithful to Jesus when I would drift, grow tired, or give up.

Saint Maximilian Kolbe wrote, “He who belongs to the Immaculate will not perish, but the more that he will be Hers, the more he will belong to Jesus.” He added that even in the middle of storms, that soul finds greater peace, and in time she reveals the secrets of the Heart of Jesus.

That is the same restlessness Saint Augustine finally named. The heart keeps searching until it rests in God. Kolbe’s answer was simple. Belong more fully to the Immaculata, and she will belong you more fully to her Son.
You do not have to feel it first. You only have to give her more of yourself. Peace follows the gift.

O Immaculata, I want to belong to you more today. Make me more completely the property of Jesus.

Saint Monica spent years praying for a son who seemed lost. She wept. She waited. She refused to give up. God answered through her tears, and Augustine came home to Jesus.

The Immaculata does that same work for every soul. She is the mother who will not let go. Saint Maximilian Kolbe trusted her with the conversion of the whole world because he knew a mother’s prayer, placed in her hands, reaches the Heart of her Son.

If someone you love feels far from God, do not carry that weight alone. Give that soul to her. She already knows the way to Jesus.

O Immaculata, I place in your hands every soul I love and my own soul too. Do not let us go. Bring us home to Jesus.

Some people worry that love for the Immaculata pulls them away from Jesus. Saint Maximilian Kolbe taught the opposite. We do not pass from her to Him. We pass with her into Him.

The more a soul belongs to her, the more that soul belongs to Jesus. She does not keep what you give her. She carries it straight to her Son and places it in His Heart without stain.

If you want more of Jesus, give more of yourself to the one who already belongs to Him completely.

Prayer for the Day
O Immaculata, I do not want to go around you. Take me with you into the Heart of Jesus.

A little child in its mother’s arms fears nothing. The child does not have to solve the world. It only has to stay near her.

Saint Maximilian Kolbe said the same is true of us and the Immaculata. Stay close to her and she takes care of the rest. All good things come with her, and the greatest of those goods is Jesus Himself.

You do not have to feel strong today. You only have to remain near the one who never lets go of her Son.

O Immaculata, keep me close to you today. Hold me as a child and bring me safely to Jesus.

Saint Maximilian Kolbe once wrote of a belonging so complete that we almost disappear. He said we should want to be so much the Immaculata’s that we become changed into her, transubstantiated into her, so that she alone remains.
This is not loss. This is the deepest way to reach Jesus. She lives in us the way Jesus lives in her. The more she fills a soul, the more that soul belongs to her Son.
Most of us still cling to pieces of ourselves. Kolbe invites us further. Give her everything until nothing is left that is not hers. Then she can do in you what you could never do alone.

Prayer for the Day
O Immaculata, take me so completely that you alone remain. Live in me and lead me wholly to Jesus.

Saint Maximilian Kolbe did not speak of a distant crown. He spoke of a living one. He called the Immaculata Queen of Heaven and earth, and he longed for her to become Queen of every heart so that through her the world would come to know and love Jesus more perfectly. That is her queenship. Not power for its own sake. A mother’s reign that exists only to lead souls home to her Son.

Today the Church honors that mystery. The same Queen who never departed from the will of God still asks for one thing: that we belong to her completely so she can belong us more fully to Jesus.

Prayer for the Day
O Immaculata, Queen of Heaven and earth, take possession of my heart today. Reign in me so that Jesus may reign in me.
