Help Needed for the Archbishop Fulton Sheen Beatification Gala
Chris Castro from the Peoria Civic Center reached out because they will be hosting Archbishop Sheen's Beautification Gala on September 25th. They are looking for some support from volunteers during the event and are interested in knowing if any of the Knights of Columbus have members interested in participating. They are looking for approximately 100 volunteers to be in the room during the event, these volunteers would be tasked with two primary focuses:
- Providing guests with information about where different services are available in the room (examples: bathroom locations, bar locations, exits, etc.)
- Providing guests with help table side, refilling water or coffee. (Not food service. They will have servers in the room, but They would like help in refilling non-alcoholic drinks: water, iced tea, coffee)
They will have staff support to help volunteers with getting water, tea & coffee to tables. These volunteers would be an added level of guest amenity to keep guest interaction fluid thought the event. They ask that volunteers wear black pants and a collared Knights of Columbus shirt (polo or button down). If you don't have one you can wear a black button-down shirt, if available. If not available, they will be lending shirts out.
The schedule timeline is as follows:
- 4 pm Volunteers Start to arrive at Peoria Civic Center. (Not all will need to arrive at the same time, based on the time below, we ask that 5:30pm is the latest time for arrival.)
- 4-5pm Volunteers training: uniform needs, getting acquainted with house staff & the room layout.
- 5 pm Doors Open for VIP.
- 6 pm Doors Open for all guests.
- 6-6:45 Cocktail Hour.
- 6:45pm Awards Show begins.
- 8pm Dinner begins.
- 9:30 meal service is complete.
- 10pm volunteers are dismissed. (If some volunteers need to leave a bit earlier, accommodations can be made.)
