Of interest to the page. This is from Aaron Slayton who is a pagan member of the UU Church in Urbana. Cool stuff happening all over Central Illinois.

I am posting this for any interested people. I teach a class called UU Magick at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Urbana-Champaign - UUCUC 309 West Green Street, Urbana, Illinois 61801

The church is a UU church and I am a member there. UU is open and accepting to Pagans and we have a growing number of Pagans who attend our church.

Thur Feb 12th 6pm to 8pm we will be branch weaving.

Wed Feb 18th 6pm to 8pm we will be creating earth jars, everyone should bring an Earth Element to share. Bring soild, sand or rock.

Wed Feb 25th is our A Wheel of Fellowship. I will be discussing Ostara and giving a lesson on what it is etc. All of this in relation to the turning of the Wheel. I will also be cooking several traditional Ostara foods. Everyone should bring something, even if you kist make a quick stop to purchase something. Not everyone has culinary skills, which is okay.

UU Magick focuses on Magick from a secular standpoint, to be inclusive to all people, pagan or not, as all world religions utilize magick to sone degree. I divide UU Magick into three distinct classes; Craft Night, Rituals & Spells, and A Wheel of Fellowship.

Craft Night has a focus on living spells. Crafts such as witch balls, witch's ladders, prepping spell candles etc. All of these create an object infused with magick, known as a living spell. These always take place e the 2nd Thursdsy if each month.

Rituals & Spells has a focus on communal magick with elements of compounded magick. Essentially creating spellwork as a group. Usually with sonethibg you get to take home, but that is not always the case. It is always the 3rd Wed of each month.

A Wheel of Fellowship is a potluck and educational about the Wheel of the Year. It is intentional that it is the last Wed if each month. So that if we have plans for a pagan festival, it won't interfere as it will never fall on a 1st or 2nd or 21st or 22nd. It also acts as a way to discuss the coming up festival. For example the one this month has us discussing Ostara. Yes, it is early, but mid way through March is Ostara, which happens before the next A Wheel of Fellowship. This is favorable for those newer to the Craft or being Pagan. It allows them to learn about and know some things in relation to the festival prior it and hopefully will inspire them to do something for the festival.
