WE ARE STARTING OUR BUILDING PROJECT!🙏🏻 🔨🙌🏻
God really stirred something in me during the last quarter of 2019. I was sitting by myself in an early morning prayer/worship service at a friends church when I felt God was telling me to “Look”.
I opened my eyes and was puzzled at what I was to look at.... A friend was sitting on stage with her guitar, the Auditorium was dimmed, A few others were spaced out throughout; meditating, praying, worshiping. So I asked God, what am I supposed to look at.
I felt him say, “build it”.
Build what??? I sat there silent looking around and felt him nudge agin.
“Build it”.
Then it dawned on me he was talking about the building. What? Where? In the future? On the property we have been looking at and dreaming/praying over for our church Changepoint. AZ????
We don’t have property yet?
“Yes you do”
No we don’t, we have been renting space for service since we started.
“Yes you do”
You mean our property? As in our home?
“Yes”
(with tears) But God, I said before we even birthed Changepoint AZ I don’t want to have services in my home or on my property.
“Trust me”
After many more tears of surrender and letting go of my expectations on how things should be, two girlfriends and I left and went out to coffee where I began to share what had just happened. Then conversations with Jody & between our family, Elders, mentors that we respect spiritually and a whole lot of prayer that quickly brought us all into agreement. December 2019 we shared with our church vison for a building…

At the time we were in an unending contract with Rio Vista Community Center that required 3 months notice of ending. After the announcement, we notified the community center (the first week in January 2020) that we were wanting to end our contract. Much to our surprise they volunteered for us to finish out the month of January and would released us from our contract from February on 🙌🏻.

In February we move our services to our home to save $ on rent and hopeful to get started within the next few months on our building project.

March 2020 the whole world was forced to shut down including churches.

Once we opened back up in person we still felt that was the direction we were supposed to move in but knew it needed to be in God’s timing. We knew we were in a period of “wait”, and we knew there was more to it than just C@^!D.

April the foresight to have something built for a childrens area was shared. Our Elder board voted and approved a smaller building for Sunday school since we still hadn’t been released for our church build. However God paused that plan and we trusted we were still in a period of wait.

September 2021 so many things were confirmed & reviled 🙌🏻 And we were finally released from our period of wait. God has grown the desire to build something where we can gather for services, College/Young Adults group, HS ministry, and so much more. Now more than ever we feel that we are to move forward. Build a structure on the back portion of our acreage property.
We can clearly see many areas of ministry and community growing back there in our 60x65 Barn. One side for bathrooms & classrooms that can be used for children’s church during service. As well as smaller Bible studies or gatherings through the rest of the week. The large middle gathering area with enough room for 250 seating, stage and a small sound booth. The other side for a kitchen/coffee shop, more classrooms & storage.

Little did we know when we purchased back in 2012 our area is already zoned for home churches... it’s kinda like God knew what he was doing when we bought it, go figure 😆🤷🏼♀️ There’s a lot involved, building cost, architecture, permitting, parking, plumbing, electric, insurance but we have such a peace about it. We know we just need to be obedient and put one foot in front of the other. And God is already moving and opening doors SO QUICKLY 🙌🏻

So with us quickly running out of room in our home, families coming, childrens Ministry and more areas of ministry growing… this Sunday we had the privilege of announce to our church that we are starting our BUILDING PROJECT!

We've been prayerfully drawing and dreaming plans. Dividing it into three phases: 1) Bathroom and classrooms: left wing 2) Large gathering area: center 3) Kitchen, classrooms & storage: right wing. This way we can start building the first phase now (as we have been saving for this). And as God opens doors and the funds are provided we can do the other phases when the time comes.

We met with the architect two weeks ago, sharing our 3 phase building plan. He came to our home and we showed him what we were wanting and how it needs to be built with the intention of the other 2 phases eventually following. His response was “If I donate my fees, will you start the whole project?” 😳🤯🙌🏻😭
That was NOT expected. And just like that God confirm what several people had said that week. To build the whole thing and trust God in the process.

So here we are… waiting for the blueprints to be completed by our generous architect. He estimates he’ll be done with them within a week or two. 🙌🏻
So would you take a moment to pray for our family, our ministry, our church and our property? We know none of this is ours, it’s all His. But it’s under our care.
We also know that when you declare something publicly for the Lord, satan is not far behind.

Will you also be praying for the many channels this will have to go through to get building permits from the county? These things are known to take 3-4 months (or longer) but we know God can move that timeline up 🙏🏻 Starting this project in the summer is not ideal 🥵 and ultimately it’s Gods timing.
